ERVA MAE (LOW) ARMSWORTHY, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat, Alberta, February 28th, 2022.
Erva was born April 26, 1935 in Cardston, Alberta and was the youngest child of Ervin and Doris Low. Erva lived and grew up in the communities of Mountain View, Aetna and Cardston. She learned at an early age home making skills and hard work when her father passed away when she was 13 years old. She loved the coming of spring and the rebirth of the land, gathering wild flowers and enjoying her time with her older siblings.
Erva met and fell in love with Lewis Walter Armsworthy and married May 2nd, 1956 in Cardston. She loved to create things with her hands, always knitting, crocheting and making clothes for her family.
Erva is predeceased by her parents, Doris (Taylor) Low and Ervin Low, and a grandson, Christopher William Shing (1991). She is survived by her son, Walter (Colette) Armsworthy and daughters, Debbie (Olson) Armsworthy and Audrey (Randy) Shing, 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and caregivers at the Good Samaritans facility, South Ridge Village (Medicine Hat) for their care, kindness and help, especially these last few weeks.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 5th, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Legacy Funeral Home, 107-6th Street West, Cardston, AB with interment will follow at the Cardston Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Kidney Foundation, #408, 740 - 4th Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 0N9.
