It is with great sadness we announce the passing of EDWIN BAD MAN (MORNING OWL) “Poohkiinimaa” was called home to be with the Lord, at the age of 51 years. He passed away on May 17, 2021 at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital.
Edwin was born on December 12, 1969 on the Blood Reserve, Alberta. He was the loving father to Melissa, Edward Jr., And Brendan Bad Man, Austin, Nicohlas, Chelsey, Tesla, Shanda, Christy, Tawny Heavy Runner, and Baby boy Brody Day Rider. He was the Grandfather to 9. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward Morning Owl and Rosie Bad Man; brother, Alvin Bad Man, Cole Morning Owl, Edwardine Morning Owl, Denise Morning Owl, Ronnie Morning Owl; sister, Martina Shot Both Sides, Margaret Holy White Man. He is survived by his brothers, Thomas Morning Owl, Thomas & Jimmy Bad Man and one sister, Marlynn Bad Man; uncles, Robert Bad Man; aunties, Merna Chief Moon, Beverly Morning Owl; adopted mother, Balina Heavy Runner; adopted uncle, Jimmy Doore; numerous nieces and nephews. Paternal grandparents, Tom Morning Owl, Lucy Red Young Man. Maternal grandparents, Frank and Enid Bad Man. Dan and Eileen Crane Chief (deceased); Margaret and Willie Hunt (deceased); Mildred Bad Man (deceased); Dennis Bad Man (deceased); Carol Calf Robe (deceased); Extended families, Calling Last, Birds, Red Crows, Hunts, Gamblers, bull Calfs, Wells, Cran Chiefs, White Quills, Turning Ropes, North Piegans, Foxes. His hobbies were beadwork. He made dream catchers, picking sweet grass, sweats, mint and enjoyed picking berries. One sport he excelled in was Boxing. He was known to spend time with his Auntie Beverly Morning Owl and would often stay at her place. He had a special bond with Beverly & daughters (Jolene, Amelia, Kimberly, Shalane Morning Owl.
Edwin was known for his humbleness, kindness, generosity and cared for everyone. He had a sense of humour and to all who knew him would understand. He shared special bond with friends and cousins that knew him closely.
A Viewing will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Thursday, May 27 from 9:00 - 11:00 am with a Family Service to follow at 11:00 am. (Due to COVID - Only a limited number of people will be allowed into the service) Interment to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
