BARBARA ANN (MAGWOOD) BAIRD passed away at home on Monday August 23, 2021 surrounded by her family after living the most beautiful life full of unbelievable memories, love & laughter. Barbara was born September 8,1942 in Hamilton, Ontario to Howard & Ruby Magwood. She lived and attended school in Stavely, Alberta where she met her best friend & love of her life Jim. Side by side they worked together & played together doing everything they could do to make the best life for their kids and grandchildren. In the happiest of times and in the hardest of times they were always together as a family. They were an amazing example of “Family is everything & Together we can do anything.” She was the absolute best example of what we strive for every single day. She was so loving, gentle, caring, selfless and kind. She always put her family first, every single day. She was undeniably the best mom, wife and grandma (GAMA) that her family could have ever have been blessed with. There are no words to describe how much she means to them. She dedicated her life to loving and supporting each one of them.
Barbara was an amazing cook. (She was famous for her cinnamon buns.) During her wonderful life she enjoyed camping in the mountains, she spent her summers/winters at the cabins in Echo & Castle where she enjoyed water & snow skiing right along with her family. She will always be a legend for waterskiing & never getting her hair wet. For many years she happily followed Jim & Mark around the country for Hockey & supported everything they did. She had an absolute pure love for her 3 grandsons, they were her pride and joy. She was fiercely protective of them (and her “girls” Cara & Jolene) and they were the absolute apple of her eye. She had a love for life, family, laughter and she was full of gratitude for all her many blessings. The memories with her will last forever.
Barbara was survived by her loving husband Jim and her children: Mark (Cara) Baird, Jolene (Justin) Wynder. Grandsons Bradley (Alyssa) Wynder, Brayden & Thomas Baird and brother Ken (June) Magwood and Sister in law Judy (Charlie) Wyld. The family would like to thank Dr. Clarke & the Cardston home care team Karlee, Rayla & Cheyanne for the amazing care, patients, kindness, laughter and compassion for Barbara and her family.
A Celebration of Life visit and luncheon will take place at the Temple Street Chapel, Cardston (355 - 3 Street West) on
Friday, August 27 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.
