DEE WORLEY BARRUS,
Dee was born in Cardston, Alberta on June 10, 1934 to William Marion Barrus and Retta Leone Worley. He was the third child in a family of six children. Dee grew up on the Barrus farm 6 kms northeast of Woolford Alberta. He developed a love of horses at an early age on the farm as he travelled to and from school by horseback throughout elementary and junior high school. Dee had a lifelong passion for the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing, hunting, riding horses, camping, and trapping throughout the province. He was a man full of knowledge and experience that he loved to share with all.
Dee is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years, Lorna Lavon Card, his Daughter Debra Marie Watson, and Son Kenneth Dee Barrus (Sherry), 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Dee is predeceased by 3 daughters: Kathryn Lavon Olsen, Barbara Jean Duce, and Beverly Anne Barrus, and one grandson, Ryan Charles Leavitt.
Friends may meet the family at the Legacy Funeral Home on Friday, March 29th from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the church on Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
The Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel (355 3 St W, Cardston) on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Cardston Cemetery.
