BECKER
Willi (Wilhelm) Becker was born April 20, 1949 to Wilhlem and Christine (Dina)Becker in Griesheim, Darmstadt, Germany where he lived until he immigrated to Canada. Growing up in Germany he gained his education where he became a licensed electrician, after which he fulfilled his required obligation in the German army where he was in communications and operated ham radio's. Following his military service he returned to his home in Griesheim where he worked for the same company his retirement.
Willi was introduced to the Dye family in 1978 and was a dear friend from that time forth. Over the next several years Willi visited Canada every year joining family vacations where he lovingly was called Uncle Willi to all. The Dye family in return made many trips to Germany where Willi was a wonderful host and tour guide.
After the death of Geraldine's husband, Geraldine and Willi made the decision to marry and in 1997 they were united in marriage. Geraldine moved to Germany with Willi where they resided until his retirement in 2001. They returned to the family farm in Raymond, Alberta and Willi took out his Canadian citizenship.
Willi loved to work on the family farm, but he was more than willing to drive mom all over the countries to visit her family, from BC to Florida. He had a great affection for mom, his family and his cows.
Willi was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he served in various capacities in the ward. Willi and Geraldine were sealed in the Cardston temple November of 2006 and later served as temple workers for more than 10 years together.
Willi was preceded in death by his loving wife Geraldine, a son Myron Dye and his parents. He is survived by his sister Christel Weber and nieces Brigitte Sedelmaier, Claudia Hasenzahl and Yasmin Meininger and other family members who reside in Germany. His children; Kelly (Dale) Smith, Shane (Cindy) Dye, Sandra (Tom) Hansen, Richard (Faye) Dye, Robert (Marla) Dye, Robin (Gary) Nasol and Bonnie (Mark) Cook and 42 grand children and 59 great grand children. The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taylor Street Chapel in Raymond, AB on Friday, February 18th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
Friends may meet the family at the Church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Service. Interment to follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery.
