JOY MELBA BEVANS, beloved wife of the late Keith Bevans, passed away in Henderson, Nevada on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the age of 92.
Born August 15,1926, at Carmangay, Alberta, Canada., she was the second daughter of seven children born to Mary Victoria Thelin and Edward Owen Dickie. She held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her favorite was called the Gleaner President. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the East Central States Mission. She married Keith DuAne Bevans January 24, 1951. In 1967 she was featured in the November issue of the Chatelaine magazine as one of the outstanding women of Alberta. Joy and Keith served a mission together for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Las Vegas, Nevada, and worked together in the Cardston Temple. The greatest loves in her life were her husband, family and Heavenly Father. She loved to be surrounded by family and just sit back and watch all the going’s on. Just weeks before her passing, when asked to write three things that she was most grateful for she wrote: Family, Food and Life.
She will be greatly missed, and her imprint will be forever in our hearts and minds. She is a daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She is our angel.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Conway Bevans, her granddaughter Misty Larson, 4 angel great-grandchildren, sisters Gloria Tippets and Mary Lou Belle.
She is survived by her children, Kim (Retta) Bevans, Darcy (Cheryl) Bevans, Darla (John) Clevenger, Lance (Becky) Bevans, Nadine (Charles) Swank, Sharlene (Ray) Poyner and her 44 grandchildren, 127 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Service with be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints South Hill Chapel, 950 Main Street in Cardston Alberta, Canada Saturday January 26, 2019 at 11:00 am.
Friends may meet the family at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service.
