October 20, 1986 – February 02, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Bob who passed away suddenly at his home in Fort Macleod, Alberta. He leaves to mourn his second mother Delores Calf Robe; sister Melissa Big Swallow (Kieven Shade); brothers Kirby Big Swallow, Cory Big Swallow, Jerome Calf Robe; his cat Nora; his numerous nieces and nephews,;grandfather Donald Big Swallow; maternal uncles & aunts: Les (Delores), Albert, Curtis (Lisa), Pat (Deliah), Monica (Eric), Collette, Lucille, Angie (Kenny); paternal uncles & aunts: Veronica (Travis), Carla (Bruce), Molly (Rex), Kym (Gary), Lora (Joseph), Heward (Kimberly); numerous cousins he was very close with; his spiritual family Les & Karen Scott, Clinton Scott and his special friend Amber Jensen all of whom he loved very much. Bob was predeceased by his grandparents Hugh & Shirley Calf Robe and Beatrice Big Swallow; his parents Curtis Calf Robe Sr. & Dorothy Anne Big Swallow; sister Christina Avis Calf Robe; cousins Kieven Scout, Mildred (Millie) Scout; paternal aunts & uncles Yankee Calf Robe, Augustus Calf Robe, Avis Calf Robe, Benjamin Calf Robe; maternal uncles & aunts: Donald Twigg, Anita Twigg and cousins Tracy Twigg, Alvin Twigg, Michael Big Swallow.
Throughout his childhood Bob grew up in Standoff on the Blood reserve where he enjoyed spending most of his time with his cousins Tamara, Yankee, Marishia, Shirley, Kayla and Jolene, playing basketball, football and enjoyed being outside, joking around, riding bikes and getting into all kinds of shenanigans. Bob attended school in Fort Macleod and Lethbridge Alberta. He graduated from Kainai High School in 2006 and later went on to attend school at Lethbridge College off campus in Fort Macleod. At the time he was living in Fort Macleod with Les and Karen Scott, he attended the meetings at the Kingdom hall. He was introduced to the Jehovah Witnesses at a young age and carried on his Christianity into his adult life. Being a Jehovah Witness taught him the value of caring and loving all the people who he crossed paths with in life. He had many friends and family who he cherished and cared about greatly. While living in Lethbridge, Bob stayed in different places that taught him to be humble and never take things for granted or treat people poorly, it was through his volunteer work with the S.A.G.E. clan with his cousin Mark Brave Rock that showed just how caring of a person he truly was, he also participated in a drum group. Bob always left situations and the people he cared about in a better state then when he first encountered them. His amazing sense of humor, kindness, gentleness and respectfulness attracted many different people who respected him just the same. He loved watching basketball; his favorite team was the Toronto Raptors. He had a great love for music and movies; some of his favorites were the Flash and his girlfriend Taylor Swift. He also enjoyed sketching cartoons; he often joked about being the next Everett Soop. He aspired to learn how to cook and play the banjo; he always took joy in learning new things in life.
He and his brothers were very close, and lovingly branded “the boy Georges” by their father, Curtis. He spent a lot of time with his brothers and sisters, playing video games, and making fun little skits and plays. Through his love of drawing, he often made funny cartoons of his brothers and sisters, just to playfully tease them. Bob loved being the fun uncle, and was always there for his nephews’ basketball games, and nieces’ makeovers. He loved to tell them stories, and teach them new things. He had a special place in his heart for his niece Charlie, who called him, “her Bob Bob”.
Bob had an amazing personality, and was very easy to talk to. He made friends everywhere he went, and loved making people laugh and joke around. He blessed us with so many lasting memories, and left a wonderful impression on all our lives. Bob will be missed dearly, although he may not be here physically. We take comfort in knowing that he will have a good journey to meet the creator and will be greeted by his father, mother, sister and other loved ones on the other side. The family would like to take this time to apologize if we have forgotten to mention anyone.
A Family Service will be at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Monday, Feb. 10th at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Wake Service at the White Calf Hall, Standoff from 7:00 - 11:00 p. m.
