It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, on Sunday, March 5, 2022.
Chancler leaves to mourn his one and only daughter: Alanya Royal Rose Bird, also his loving mother Alana (Warren Shouting), his father Stevie Heavy Shield (Melissa Willows). His siblings; Hayden, Hayley and Riley Bird, also Mary Ellen, Kadin, Thane, Dante (Jordan), Mylie (Keyawana) and Devlin Red Crow. Foster parents: Roland Cotton (Adele -deceased), adopted siblings; Sheila, Dolly and Marina Cotton, also Wanda (Earl), Samantha (Dan), Brett (Trish), Michael (Gerri) and Ky (Jenna) Shouting, Survived by his maternal grandmother Carol (Henry) deceased and maternal grandfather Lambert (Carol), paternal grandmother Marlene Weasel Fat, and Paternal grandfather Steven (Wanda) Heavy Shield. Aunties: Edna, Michelle, Louanne (Richard) Bird. Also, Jodi, Billie Jae Heavy Shield, and Tanis Tailfeathers. Uncles; Chad (Katie). Also survived by his great aunties; Pauline Steinhauer, Diane and Lorna, Barbara, and Faye Heavy Shield. Great uncles; Harrison (Cynthia) Shade and Alphonse Bird, numerous great aunties, and great uncles.
Chancler was born at Cardston, Alberta on March 24, 1995. When he was younger, he went to stay with Roland and Adele Cotton in Fort Macleod, AB. He also attended and graduated from F.P. Walsh. He travelled numerous places for example: Disney land, Las Vegas, his last trip was to Vancouver, BC. Music was his passion. When he turned 18 years old, he moved to Lethbridge, AB to pursue his love of writing music and poetry. He enjoyed basketball and soccer. He had the opportunity to meet Adam Beach at a Conference.
Chancler is a very loving person, he had a heart of gold. Everybody he met was his friend. He was very smart and gifted in writing his music and poems. He was a great role model to his siblings. His laughter was very contagious, he can make the whole room laugh. He was very polite, good mannered, and easy to talk too.
Chancler was predeceased by his uncles Marvin and Dusty Bird, Lane Tailfeathers. Auntie Shannon Bird. Also, his great aunties, Hazel, Gloria, Delphine, Doris, Lucy Prairie Chicken, Stella Crazy Bull. Great uncles, Harvey, Philip, Gilbert, Rudy and Murray Heavy Shield, Frank Prairie Chicken. His maternal great grandparents Gordon and Louie Bird, Albert, and Winnie Panther Bone. His paternal great grandparents, Ed, and Marion Heavy Shield.

The Wake Service will be held on Friday, March 18 at White Calf Hall, Stand Off from 6:00 - 11:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at White Calf Hall, Stand Off on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11:00 am.
