It was with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mom, grandmother, sister, and auntie. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. MARILYN BLACK FOREHEAD was born on October 2, 1960, in Cardston Blood Indian Hospital and peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on February 25, 2022 at Lethbridge Chinook Regional Hospital. Marilyn is survived by her children Kim (Heward), Lacey (Kendon), Shilo (Dalen), Lois (Cory), Cory, (Amanda) Billy, (Kass) and adopted children Alexa, Taylor, Sarah, Wesley, Amanda, and her loving grandchildren Keira, Carter, Kinsley, Katniss, Noah, Rivers, Auralee, Ari, Lesly, Joseph, and Jaxx. Marilyn is also survived by her siblings Annette (Myron), Edna (Alan), Brenda and Daniel (Bettina). Marilyn attended Standoff Day school, Fort Macleod F. P Walshe, St. Mary's, and the Lethbridge college pursing her career in business management. Marilyn worked for social development in the 90’s and after she worked for Lands Department at the BTA but due to her health issues she could no longer work. In her younger days Marilyn had a passion for baseball, traveling with her parents, sister Cathrine, brother Adrian, nephews and nieces on the Pow- wow trails. She cherished spending quality time with her children, grandkids, and Alexa and Taylor, she liked to dress up, being outdoors and going for drives, she would post all her activities on Facebook as she would be called a “Facebook Queen". Marilyn enjoyed cooking, listening to her music, watching the Edmonton Oilers, her grandchildren were her inspiration and motivation to keeping going in life despite her long-term illness, she was a strong woman and was a great motivator as she would always know what to say to her loved ones. We like to thank the doctor and nurses at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital, Dialysis unit, and Medical Transportation. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Jack and Amy, Sisters Cathrine Black White Man and Cindy Black Forehead, Brothers Adrian Black Forehead and Leonard Black Forehead, Nephews Charles Old Shoes and Jared Crow Eagle, niece Tanya Marie Black Forehead, Tom White Calf, and Maggie Eagle Speaker. Marilyn’s extended families include; Wolf Child families, Black Faces, Eagle Speakers.
The Wake Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Thursday, March 10 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Friday, March 11 at 11:00 am with Father Pawel Andrasz officiating. Interment to follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Stand Off.
