It is with great sadness and tremendous sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our Dear Tylan Louis James Bull Shields (T-Dogg), on Sunday May 9th, 2021, with family by his side at the age of 33 years old in Calgary, Alberta. Tylan a.k.a. Ty was born on a very nice, hot, & beautiful sunny Canada Day (July 1st, 1987) at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital, weighing in at 9 pounds and 8 ounces. According to his Mother Lisa, she can just see the fireworks going on that night after he was born! His brother Nathan a.k.a Nate, was always so jealous of Tylan because he was always blessed with a barbeque and fireworks on his birthday! Nathan was always mad and would say, “I want my birthday on Tylans birthday, it's not fair!”
Tylan is survived by his loving Mother Lisa Panther Bone whom he loved very much, they were so close and always together. Ty, Nate, and his nephew Keenan always took very good care of their Mother Lisa, she is their rock! Ty is also survived by his adopted Mother Cindy Tail Feathers; As well as his God Parents: The Late Delbert and his wife Sherry Crow Chief; Also his Grandma Barbra Bull Shields; his Brothers: Nathan (Sheena) Bull Shields, Myles Tail Feathers, DaneTail Feathers, Montey (Winter) Wolf Child, and James Running Crane; and his sister Kristen Panther Bone. Toby (Rusty) Bull Shields, Debbie (Albert) Black Water, Verda (Marcel) Weasel Head, Noreen Bull Shields, Violet (Kelvin) Black Horse, and Francis Heavy Runner; Also his uncles: Elroy Panther Bone Sr., Brian, Joe, Mike, and Dwight Panther Bone; Also Wes and Sonny Bull Shields, and by his Great Uncles: Lawerence a.ka. Ty is also survived by his brothers: Kyle, John, Luke, Denny, Tyler, Jason, Lane, Tyson, and Troy; and his sister-cousins: Necia, Caitlyn, Jami, Vanessa, Chataya, Keisha, Robin, Leslie, Girlie, and Katherine; Also more family and friends too numerous to mention, Ty knew a lot of people; and last but definitely not least, Tylan really loved his kitty cat “Annie,” he would always say, “Annie is my daughter, I really love her so much! I always talk to her about my problems and tell her how I’m feeling, and she just listens to me, and never judges me!”
Tylan was very loved, very humble, kind, and so generous; he never bragged about anything. His passion was always taking excellent care of everyone. Up until the time of his passing, he was always at Nathan and Sheena’s house laying on his favorite red couch watching his favorite movies, and spending time with his Baby Shea Bear. He always cooked and cleaned for Nathan, Sheena, Lisa, Keenan, and Sheason! His hobbies were cooking, doing art work (mostly drawing and sketching), watching war movies (his favorite movie was Platoon), mending his clothes, and playing video games on his X-Box. Even though Ty was very shy and timid, he was always very happy and loved to joke around; he had a very contagious laugh that we will never forget. Ty made some pretty amazing goals: he was always saying he wanted to open up his own tatoo shop; As well as, go to school to become a chef. Ty also talked about always wanting to have a daughter someday! Kristen, Nathan, and Sheena would always tell him, “since we were the ones that had boys first, your going to be the one to have a daughter first, so you better get on it Ty-your not getting any younger!”
In Tylan’s early life, he grew up in Lethbridge, Alberta. He went to school at St. Martha’s Elementry School, Father Leonard Vantigaum, and Catholic Central High School. Ty was an excellent student throughout his educational journey, he was very smart and received numerous awards. He was very talented in not only with his artwork; But also, in beadwork, and sewing. During his elementry years, he had the opportunity to have his artwork displayed at the Galt Museum in Lethbridge, Alberta. In his early adult life, he went to school at Bow Valley College where he completed his upgrading. He also graduated from Momentum Training Centre in the Life Skills Program, and this his where he mastered in his carpentry skills Both Ty and Nate were always very hard workers. Ty had numerous jobs in the city of Lethbridge and Calgary, him and Nate were so close and always working together. At the time of his passing he was currently employed with True Line Formworks doing (residential basement forming) with their boss Frank Hobbes whom was pretty much like a father figure to Nathan and Tylan. Tylan was also very spiritual, he really loved attending ceremonies including sweat lodges with his spiritual mentor Ashley Prarie Chicken. Ty always loved to smudge with his Mom Lisa, Auntie Celestine, brother Nathan, Sister Sheena, nephew Keenan, and his Baby Shea Bear.
Tylan still had a lot to live for. He was such a gentle giant, never meant any harm on anyone, and we are all going to miss him very much. Ty is now in a good place with his Dad. People seem to think that Heaven is so far away. But it's actually closer to us than we think. Even though he is gone, he will always be with us in spirit.
