Kathleen Viola Green Cahoon passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 in Cardston, Alberta surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband and eternal companion Jimmy D. Cahoon; her parents George Nalder Green and Anne R. Steed Green; sisters Georgia Fooks, Pat Stevens and Joan Green; and son Jimmy Richard Cahoon. She is survived by her children Debbie (Joseph) Cherrington, Patti (Lorry) Pitcher, Cheri (Darcy) Kerr, Mark (Karen) Cahoon, Brent (Cathy) Cahoon, and Shauna (Earl) Jarman; 33 grandchildren; and 69 great-grandchildren. She was raised in Lethbridge, Alberta and attended Brigham Young University. Kathleen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings. She always went over and above in all she did. She was especially remembered for her service in a Relief Society Presidency, as a homemaking leader, a primary chorister, an early morning Seminary teacher and Sunday School teacher. She also worked in the Cardston Alberta Temple. She loved swimming, tennis and hiking, sewing, cooking, and creating unique family history books. Kathleen had a beautiful voice and loved playing the piano for her own and her family’s enjoyment. Her children loved to hear her play her “Butterfly Song”. She was always the best support for her husband and children. Katheen drove a school bus, worked at Snyder’s Down and Fern’s Chocolates. Jim and Kathleen worked together for many years doing projects for the churches throughout Southern Alberta. They were almost inseparable. They worked together, played together and are finally together again for eternity.
Friends may meet the family on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the Legacy Funeral Home in Cardston from 7:00 to 8:00 pm or at the church on Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service.
The funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cardston Alberta Stake Center (338-5 Ave E) in Cardston, Alberta on Monday May 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Cardston Cemetery.
