It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our niece, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend,
CARMEN LORIE CHIEF CALF in Lethbridge on October 8th, 2018 at the age of 53 years.
Lorie’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her loving companion Jack Chalmers; her older brother Calvin Chief Calf whom she called her hero; her brother Lloyd Chief Calf; her sister Sharon Chief Calf whom she cherished dearly and was very protective of; her goddaughter and niece Tessie (Accell) Rider; special niece Maria Chief Calf plus several more nieces and nephews (too numerous to mention); her uncle Lloyd (Karen) McHugh and aunts: Corolla Bruised Head, Carmel (William) Crow Chief, Lena Small Legs and Joanne Healy; also adopted mother Theresa Vielle and adopted sister Elizabeth Vielle.
Lorie attended St. Saint Paul’s Residential School. Although Lorie had no children of her own, she took the role of a grandmother, mother to her goddaughter Tessie, niece Maria and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorie was raised by her late grandparents Albert & Mary Chief Calf. She was a fluent Blackfoot speaker and was often called upon by family to offer prayers for elders, children, family and friends because of her powerful prayers. Lorie was a kind and thoughtful person who loved her family and was always willing to share - always full of love and gestures of kindness.
Lorie was predeceased by her husband Emil Wings; parents: Verna Rose Chief Calf and Roger Bull Shields; grandparents: Dolly Strangling Wolf, John Chief Calf; grandparents Cecille Bull Shields, Christopher Bull Shields; great grandparents: Mary Bacon Chief Calf, Albert Chief Calf; siblings: Mervin “Bunny” Chief Calf, Merlin Christopher “Bayduck”, June Barbra Chief Calf and Alvin Lance Chief Calf; uncle Leonard “Sikooh” Chief Calf; aunt Debra Healy; niece Patti Shouting.

The Wake Service will be held at the Moses Lake Gym, Blood Reserve on Thursday, Oct. 18th from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be at the Moses Lake Gym on Friday, October 19th at 12:00 Noon. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
