It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lorraine “Singing Under Woman” Chief Moon at the age of 50 years on March 9, 2023. Rockoo is survived by her loving mother Myrna Chief Moon; her beloved children: Nathan, Marky, and Kaitlyn (Brandon); adopted children: Nathan GVB, Garrett, Blade, Shaquille, Leonard; godchild: LJ BT; grandchildren: Leyton, Kyreic, Riley, Aria, Lukan, Maddox, Haley, and Dakota; adopted grandchildren: Azaria, Darius, and Sebastian; brothers and sister: Roger and Gus Jr. Chief Moon, and Justine (Moses) BT; Sister in Laws: Bettina and Anne; adopted siblings: Joshua (Lenni) Curly Rider, Janice DR, Vicky (J.D) Stone, David Bennett; aunties and uncles: John Sr, Edward (Elaine), Keith (Karen) Chief Moon, Robert BM, Thomas Gambler, Irvan Calling Last, Virginia (Tony), Bertha. Many nieces and nephews. We are honoring everyone as pallbearers who are in attendance at the service attendance and who grew up with Rockoo. Lorraine was born May 28, 1972, at Cardston Municipal Hospital, to Gus and Myrna Chief Moon. She attended Cardston Elementary School, Levern Elementary school and continued her education on the Blood Reserve. She worked with Red Crow College most of her life. She enjoyed music and singing. She loved being outside with her siblings and cousins, riding bikes and chasing one another or swimming at the river. She enjoyed doing her arts and crafts and getting ready and doing her make-up. While Rockoo was growing up she loved basketball and her favorite subject in school was math and she absolutely loved singing at church. Rockoo traveled to San Diego, LA, Orlando, Reno, Las Vegas, and various parts of Canada and the US with her family. Rockoo graduated from Red Crow College and started her career there after. She also worked at the Kainai Healing Lodge. Rockoo also received her business management degree. She first became a mother on May 7, 1992 to her only son Nathan. She then had her daughter Marky in September 1993 and welcomed her daughter Kaitlyn in August 2000. Lorraine was overjoyed when she first became a grandma in July 2011, and then went on to have seven more grandchildren and then adopted more grandchildren. Some of Lorraine‘s proudest moments were attending her daughter Kaitlyn‘s High School graduation and her granddaughter Leyton‘s Elementary School graduation. She loved to attend her kids‘ sports games. She was always the first one there to all of her grandchildrens’ births to welcome them into the world. She loved to attend church and support her mother’s sundancing. She always talked about bringing her grandchildren to Disneyland to add her to her travel list. Her main focus was always with her grandchildren. Lorraine always wanted to marry Harrison, they picked out rings and always planned their wedding together. Rockoo was predeceased by her father Gus Chief Moon Sr; Grandparents: Dan and Philomena Chief Moon, Enid and Frank Bad Man; Brothers and Sisters; Joe CM, Thomas CM, Mark CM, Michael(Mink) DR, Bently CM, Walter EC, Grace CM, and Karen CM; Niece Eugena CM; aunties and uncles: Dan CM, Jordan CM, Wilfred, Delphine, Burton, Horace, Elaine, Parker, Dexter, Dorian, Dora Gambler, and Rosie.
A Wake Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 7:00 - 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Pioneer Cemetery.
