On Saturday evening, November 12, 2016, at the age of 81, SHEILA CLAIR (SABEY) passed on peacefully in her sleep at the Cardston hospital. Sheila was born in Magrath, Alberta on December 4, 1935, the oldest of five children of Sylvester and Lillian Sabey. Sheila was predeceased by two children, Dennis and Susan Dudley, and a grandson, Wallace Dudley Thomas. Sheila is survived by her sister, Jane Cahoon, Brothers Keith Sabey, Robert Sabey, and Jack Sabey, her children Jane Dudley, Janet Ann Turner, John Paul Dudley, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Sheila is loved by family and friends who cherish her unconditional love, her kindness, and example of selfless service. She lived much of her life in Magrath, Alberta, retiring in Cardston, Alberta. Sheila was a faithful and valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and lived in service her entire adult life. She was a knowledge seeker and a visionary ahead of her time, particularly in the areas of health, community development, and global affairs. She researched voraciously for 60 years and loved to share what she learned to bless the lives of others. Sheila published, Whole Food Cooking by Sheila Clair, and had a cable TV series, Whole Food Cooking with Sheila Clair. She developed community, monetary, and business models decades ago that are currently the norm. She will be deeply missed by many.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 11:00am in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Temple Street Chapel, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada (across the street from the Cardston Temple).
