FRANK “Yoda” COTTON III passed away in Lethbridge on March 29th, 2016 at the age of 36 years.
He was born to Carrie Cotton and James Cardinal on October 6th, 1979.
Frank is survived by his father - Jim (Darleen) Cardinal; brother Creedin Powder-Cardinal; best friend and brother Nathan No Chief; uncles Roland (Adel) Cotton, Donald (Barb) Cotton; aunts Carol (Calvin) Cotton, Margaret Cotton, Donna Marie (Gary) Smith, Frankie (Oliver) Scout, Liz Big Head; numerous cousins whom he loved dearly; No Chief, Quinny, Cardinal, extended families.
Frank was predeceased by his mother Carrie Cotton; grandparents Frank & Annie Cotton, John Cardinal and Josephine Erickson; aunt Rose Yellow Feet; infant brother Grant Joseph Cotton; cousins Roland Cotton Jr., Cecelia, Genie Spear Chief.
Frank was the only child born to Carrie Cotton. She doted and loved her son dearly. He was raised by his mother until she passed away and then moved in with his uncle Donald Cotton. Later, he moved to Bonnyville to be near his ill Dad, Jim, for about 5 years. He experienced his first heart attack there and moved home when he was invited back to his uncle Donald’s. From there, he moved in with his childhood friend, Nathan No Chief, where he passed away. He was especially close to Nathan, who referred to him as “Dough Boy”.
Frank graduated from F. P. Walshe in Fort Macleod and was presently attending Red Crow College. He worked in various fields and acquired many skills. Frank was a man that could turn anger into happiness that was enjoyed and appreciated. His favorite saying was “Can’t we all just get along?” Frank loved children and children loved him. He made friends easily and was helpful to older people.
A Wake Service will be at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Tuesday, April 5th from 7:00 p.m continuing all night. The Funeral Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Wednesday, April 6th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
