With heavy hearts we the family are sad to announce the passing of our dear son, father, brother, nephew and friend, FRANKLIN JOHN CRAZY BULL SR. in Lethbridge, AB at the Chinook Regional Hospital on April 12, 2024 at the age of 43 years old. Franklin was born on January 25, 1981 in Cardston, AB. He will be sadly missed by his mother Julie; siblings, Estella (Calvin), Melodie; children, Franklin Jr., Izailah; nephews, Phoenix, Ryder; nieces, Suzie, Karsen; aunts, Monica (John), Shirley (Barnabas), Sandy (Jason), Beverly (Rick), Shelly, Lorna, Myrna; uncles, Daniel (Randa), Wes, Robert.
Franklin is such a great loss to all who crossed paths with him. In his early years he attended Saipoyi Elementary School, Nicholas Sheran Elementary, Alan Watson, Hamilton School and 5th on 5th. Prior to his passing, Franklin was in the Aiyiikaahkiminnaya Program through Blood Tribe Reinvestment Initiative, under Blood Tribe Social Development. He really enjoyed the program and made lots of new friends while attending the program. He celebrated his last birthday at the program, where the staff and classmates threw him a surprise birthday. Franklin’s love was unconditional for his mom Julie, he always made her laugh with sillyness; he was so proud of her for all of her accomplishments. He was happy she found love with his step dad Thomas Eagle Child.
He will be sadly missed by his sister Estella; they had a very close bond and were always together and looked after each other. His sister Caddy and him were always play fighting and joking around with each other. His nephew Ryder never left his side and always wanted to be around him playing games and watching movies. Franklin cherished the time he spent with his friends.
He was so comical making everyone laugh. If someone was sad he always tried to make their day no matter where he was and he was the center of attention. He loved to make everyone smile and be happy.
When he was younger he played hockey and baseball. Judy and Bill Peta were so proud of him. Franklin really enjoyed listening to his cousin Jonathan Tallman sing. Franklin loved horses and he was always out at his uncle Barnabas’ riding horses and breaking them, then everytime he was finished he would go in and make a big pot of rice.
Everyone who knew him will always remember his sense of Gangster style. He would make the shelter laugh and he was loved by all. No one could take him seriously. What made him shy was how small his hands and feet were. He would always hide them and say, “Come on now, I have Julie hands.”
A Wake Service will be held at the Tanner Center, Cardston on Sunday, April 21 from 6:00 - 10:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Tanner Center on Monday, April 22 at 12:00 pm. Interment to take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
