On Wednesday March 15, 2023 Cheryl Lynn Crying Head (Iitop’m ainihkiyaki) Took her journey back home to the spirit world.
Cheryl was born on June 26, 1976. She is survived by her Parents Martin and Elizabeth Vielle her daughters Shantel (Calson), Late Charlotte Crane Chief, Janelle and Shania Crying Head. Grandchildren; Jacinta, Xzavier Oka, Persayaz, Jazlyn Crying Head. Sisters; Late Vivian (Roland), Eleanor Vielle, Rochelle Wolf, Lillian (Ben) Scout, Angie and Tanya Gros Ventre Boy. Brothers; Morgan Vielle, Randell, and Timmy Gros Ventre Boy. Aunts Annie Crying Head, Rita Many Fingers, Veronica Crying Head and Carolyn Gros Ventre Boy Uncles: Wesly, Deanie Gros Ventre Boy. Nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Cheryl was raised by her late Grandmother Rachel Crying Head in Little Chicago where she grew up most of her life. Cheryl was very close with her grandma Rachel and sister Vivian Crane Chief both deceased. Blackfoot was her first language (Many admired her Blackfoot speaking) until she started school in Levern then St Mary’s High School also attending Red Crow College and Life Skills at the Wellness Centre.
Pow wow fancy dancing was the highlight of her life, In 1989 she became the Levern Riverside Princess. Cheryl and Grandma Rachel travelled with the late Paul and Mary Stella Bare Shin Bone and family, they travelled to many places in Montana, Washington and Canada Pow wows in White Swan, Crow Agency, Heart Butte, Billings, Creston. When they would travel to White Swan they would stay with Kenny and Louise Scabby Rob.
For many years Cheryl would go with Grandma Rachel and Vivian to church attending camp meetings and travelling to Lake St Ann, more recently she would join other volunteers and go clean the St Mary’s Catholic church.
Cheryl was a very kind and gentle soul always willing to help others in time of need. She was very clean and took lots of pride in taking care of herself, she loved to dress up. She loved helping take care of her nieces and nephews and helping others which is where she gained lots of friendships. She loved her daughters and grandchildren very much and always tried hard to maintain a home for her family. Cheryl will be missed by all that knew her.
Cheryl was very loving and had adopted family in her life time, Tristan, Shantel, Marky, Albertine, Nelly, Buddy, Percie Panther Bone. Elijha Crying Head, Sarah, Linzy, Serena Newman and Grandson Cortez.
Cheryl was predeceased by her daughter Charlotte Crane Chief. Grandchildren Jonah and Manuel, her Grandparents; Rachel and Sebastian Crying Head, Rudy and Pettie Gros Ventre Boy, Sister Vivian and brother in-law Roland Crane Chief her Dad Randy Gros Ventre Boy Brother Albert Vielle. Aunties; Agnus Heavy Head, Mary Sweet Grass, Theresa and Geraldine Crying Head, Clara Gros Ventre Boy and Judy Stripped Wolf. Great Uncle; Steven Crying Head Sr. Uncles; Randolf, Gabriel Gros Ventre Boy, Pete Many Fingers, Dominic Across the Mountain and Martin Crane Chief.

A Wake Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 6:00 - 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Monday March 27, 2023 at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place in Pioneer Cemetery.
