It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our Loving Brother Patrick Thomas (Chicky) Eagle Child at the age of 60 in Cardston Health Centre on May 10, 2023.
Patrick leaves to mourn his grandchildren; Kayson and Kashlynn Twigg, Brothers; Cyril (Patty), Campbell (Arlene); Lloyd (Shirley); Winslow; Evans Eagle Child adopted Brother Dwayne crow Chief; Sisters; Dolores (Roy) Big Head; Vivian; Rose Marie (Van) Nguyen of Toronto; Patty June; Mother In Law Diane Twigg; Brother in laws; Christopher (Leanna); Carey (Tashina) Colin; and Sister in law Trisha Twigg. Numerous Nephews and Nieces. Patrick was the God Father to Alexandra Twigg and Dreden Black Water.
Patrick was predeceased by his beloved wife Lori Ann & Son Shay; Father Patrick Sr & Mother Bibiane Eagle Child, Emil & Lorraine Chief Moon; Brothers Roland Eagle Child & Franklin Wells; Sister Rosaline Eagle Child, Sister in Law Velma Delaney; Nephews Darryl, Shawn, Leon, Justin, & Tommy Eagle Child; Grandparents Tom & Fanny Eagle Child; Uncles Jim, Albert, Dan, Thomas Eagle Child, Sandy & Claude Eagle Plume; Aunts Josephine Eagle Child, Margaret Iron Shirt, Frances Healy, & Phyllis Bennett; Annie Devine & Pauline Three Persons, Patrick was born in Cardston Municipal Hospital June 28, 1962. He received his education in Fort Macleod Alberta and Lethbridge Community College & Red Crow College where he received his Arts and Science Degree. Patrick was employed with the Kainaiwa Children Services, Blood Tribe Housing, St. Pauls Treatment Centre. Patrick was courageous person always making jokes and laughing. His laugh was contagious . He would light up any social environment by his silly personality. He was very kind hearted and humble person he would help anyone in need. He often invited the street people to stay at home during the winter so they would not freeze. His life revolved around his beloved wife Lori Ann whom he missed dearly after her death. He was totally heartbroken and tried his best to continue without her was extremely hard to deal with. Later was devastated when he lost his only Son Shay which further increased his grief. Patrick was a devoted Catholic, Patrick and Lori Ann would go to pilgrimages to Lac St Anne yearly, and always enjoyed travelling to Toronto to visit his sister Rose Marie. His lasted travel was a year and half to Toronto. They went up the CN Tower and got very dizzy but his Sister Dolly assured him he would be okay. Chicky and Dolly were inseparable in their younger years and very mischievous often asking Dolly to get the keys from their dad to go watch a movie or just drive around with other cousins. They always made sure they gassed up before they brought the truck home or else they would be banned from borrowing the vehicle again. They always had a lot of fun being together and telling stories.
Patrick like to cook and doing crafts and puzzles and very analytical person, he would be able to solve problems in no time. Patrick was known for his cleanliness and upkeep of his home. Patrick will be dearly missed by his siblings, relatives and friends.
Patrick has many relatives which included the Eagle Plumes, Chief Moons, Curly Riders, Many Fingers, Bruised Head, Beebes, Bloods, Red Crows, Pace, Red Guns, Low Horns, Plain Women and we the family apologize if we missed any relatives.
A Wake Service will be held at Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Wednesday, May 17 from 7:00 - 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Thursday May 18 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Catherine’s cemetery.
