It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Tina “Beans” Marie Eagle Speaker. Tina passed away peacefully at home on April 1st 2023, at the age of 51 years old. Tina was born in Cardston on July 16th 1971, to the late Loretta Weasel Head and Morton Eagle Speaker.
Tina met the love of her life, Alvin Medicine Crane, and together they raised their kids: Kimberly, Jodi, the Late Thomas, James, Loretta, baby girl Shayla, Tara, Harper, and Johnny Boy. As well as playing a big part in their grandchildren’s lives whom she loved and adored so much; Alaya, Timia, Taya, Patricia (Sweetie), Joseph (Jojo), Yasmin, Baby Alvin, Lyle, Quinlyn, Alley, Georgia, Sunshine, and Drake. She was also a proud godmother to Lisa Plaited Hair and Dassius Standing Alone.
In her earlier years, Tina attended school at the stand-off elementary and went on to Kainai High School on the Blood Reserve. She was always determined to finish what she started. In Her later years, Tina went back to school and completed several programs and had numerous jobs. She was a provider for her family and would always make sure they were well taken care of. Tina and Alvin loved going on the pow-wow trail. They were devoted to their children and would always do everything with all the kids and grandkids. They were avid supporters of their kids endeavours and spent countless hours coaching the basketball and baseball teams the kids were apart of.
Tina loved the outdoors, travelling to the mountains, horse back riding, going swimming, and would always love to pick berries, sage, mint, and sweet grass. In her younger years, Tina was also apart of her late uncle Wayne Plumes dance troop. Tina also enjoyed playing hand games with her family. She had a great sense of humour and would often be caught doing practical jokes and wrestling with her older brother Tim. She spent countless hours down at her grandparents, Orton and Paulines, house playing with all her cousins. If there was ever anything you can remember about Tina beans, it was that family was everything to her. She always had a smile on her face and would be sure to greet everyone with her kind words and big hugs. Tina had many friends, and you can be sure to count on her if you needed a helping hand. She was a very supportive, loving, kind, and beautiful person. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Tina was survived by; her brother Jason (Sabrina) Eagle Speaker. Adopted brothers; Ryan Standing Alone, Sheldon Healy, & Trent Eagle Speaker. Her sisters; Arlene Weasel Head, Edna Bird, Jolie Weasel Head, Anita Creighton, Lydia Wells, Sherri and Sheila Moses, Monica Black Water, Rochelle and Patti Standing Alone, Verna & Trina Eagle Speaker, Twylla Heavy Shields, Marilee Mistaken Chief, and Dikki Creighton. Her Aunties; Randa (Dan) Weasel Head, Brenda (Tina) Weasel Head, Abby Eagle Speaker, Jennifer Weasel Head, Diane Plume, and Sylvia Weasel Head. Her Uncles; Seymor Eagle Speaker and Pete (Wanda Weasel Head).
Tina was predeceased by her son Thomas Medicine Crane. Her Granddaughters; Jazla and Tavaha Medicine Crane. Her Brothers; Tim (Roxanne) Eagle Speaker, and Murdis Eagle Speaker. Her nephew Justin Eagle Speaker. Her parents Loretta Weasel Head & Morton Eagle Speaker. Her Grand Parents; Orton and Pauline Eagle Speaker, Patrick jr. Weasel Head & Annie Plume.
A Wake Service will be held at the Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve, Tuesday April 11, from 6:00 - 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Gladstone Hall on Wednesday, April 12 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at the St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
