DAVID HEWITT EDMONDS, of Cardston, passed away in Cardston, Alberta, on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the age of 85. David was predeceased by his parents, Victor and Madge Edmonds, his son, Darren Edmonds and is survived by his loving wife Elaine Edmonds whom he married in 1974. He is also survived by his daughters and daughter in law and their families: (Anne) Edmonds and their daughter Kayla, Jackie and (Blair) Andre and their sons, Jayden and Bryson and Laura and (Shawn) Kirwan and their children Ethan, Brooklyn and Mckenna.
He was born in England and immigrated to Canada at the age of 9 after the second world war with his parents and settled in the Vancouver area. Even though Dave was not raised in Cardston, he had a great love for Cardston and served for many years on the Historical society as well as several years as a town councillor. He also served for many years as a temple worker.
His daughters fondly remember his tinkering and always working on one project or another. Whether it be wood working, art work or home renovations that never seemed to end. His love of chocolate will carry on through his daughter Laura and his electronics and building acumen will carry on through Jackie.
In lieu of flowers or cards, please consider donating to The Canadian Cancer Society.
A family celebration of life will be held in his honor in the summer of 2024.
