
GIBB - LEAVITT
November 16, 1923- September 27, 2022
INEZ WILDE GIBB LEAVITT age 98, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2022 at Prairie Ridge Lodge in Raymond, Alberta. She was born on November 16, 1923, in Lethbridge, Alberta, the seventh of eight children born to Donald Earl Wilde and Minnie Jeanette Spendlove, of Welling, Alberta.
She was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Minnie Wilde and all of her siblings, her husband, Joseph Gibb, all of his siblings, infant daughter Karen, grandson Corey McCarthy as well as her sons-in-law Robert Edwards and Donald Ripley.
She and Joe lived in Magrath for many years then moved to Cardston when Joe’s health began to fail. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spent many years leading choirs and The Singing Mothers. She and Joe loved to Square Dance and taught many youth to dance.
After Joe passed away, she married Ray Leavitt in 2001 until his passing. She enjoyed their service together in the Cardston Alberta Temple. We would like to thank the children of Ray and Norma Leavitt for their kindness and consideration shown to her.
Inez is survived by her children, Shirley (Joe) Paulson, Cardston, Jolayne (Murray) Anderson, Sherwood Park, Lynne Edwards, Raymond, Marsha Ripley, Spring Coulee.
20 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren.
The family would like to express appreciation to Doctor Brian Low for his kindness and dedication and regular visits to her. Also thanks to the Home Care Workers, the staff at the Chinook Lodge in Cardston and the Prairie Ridge Lodge in Raymond for their tender care of her. We also thank the church workers from the Chinook Branch and Prairie Ridge Branch.
Special thank you to Legacy Funeral Home for their kindness and very compassionate service as they paid attention to every detail.
A family graveside service was held at the Magrath Cemetery.
