APRILEE GOOD RIDER “Ni’táíhpiyaakiiwa” with sorrow in our hearts Dewayne Calling Last and family announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma, Aprilee Good Rider (Calling Last) in the Cardston Hospital on Monday, January 25, 2021.
Aprilee was born on March 28, 1960 at the Blood Indian Hospital on the Blood Reserve, AB. April leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband, Dewayne Calling last; daughter, Naomi Spotted Bull; son, Weylan and Norma; sister, Heather White Quills; brothers, Van Singer, William Singer, Carl Singer and Les Singer; Aunties, Jennifer(Albert) Rabbit, Louise Minde; uncles, Joe Eagle Tailfeathers, Leonard Eagle Tailfeathers; brother in law, Merlin (Gina) Calling Last; grandchildren, Gracie, Chloe, Montana, Mara, Railey; and 1 great grandson Jimmy-Lee; April’s furbabies, Snoopy-Lee, Rotch, Max and Tiffie-Lee. April is predeceased by her parents Bob and Gloria Eagle Tailfeathers; sisters, Bobbie-Joy Frank (Eagle Tailfeathers); brothers, infant Benjamin Eagle Tailfeathers, Robert (Sonny) Eagle Tailfeathers and Ted Singer; grandparents, Frank and Helen Eagle Tailfeathers. How Aprilee received her Blackfoot name: Grandpa Frank Eagle Tailfeathers went to an Indian Days in the U.S. Grandpa Frank and Aprilee’s dad, Bob Eagle Tailfeathers were both Chicken Dancers. Grandpa Frank got up to dance and he was dancing alone, so Grandpa Frank gave April the name “Ni’táíhpiyaakiiwa” (Dancing Alone Woman).
A Viewing will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Monday, February 1, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 am with a Family Service to follow at 11:00 am. (Due to COVID-19 - Limited people will be allowed in the building at a time.) Interment to follow at Eagle Tailfeathers family Cemetery.
