
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our mother, sister, auntie, niece, sister-in-law, and best friend Tanya Jocelyn Gros Ventre Boy, who passed away on October 3, 2023 at the age of 44 years old in Calgary, Alberta.
Tanya will be lovingly remembered by her children: Drey, Twyla, Derrick, and Jessica. Her Brothers: Timothy (Sharisse) Morning Owl and Charles Shot Both Sides. Special Sister-In-Law: Juanita Many Shots, Uncles: Wesley (Noreen) Gros Ventre Boy, Dean Gros Ventre Boy, Aunties; Carolyn Gros Ventre Boy, Vicky Day Chief, Colleen Shot Both Sides.
Tanya has made her journey to her heavenly home to be joined with her family who have gone before her. Her parents; Randy Gros Ventre Boy and Doris Shot Both Sides, Paternal Grandparents Beattie and Ruby Gros Ventre Boy; Maternal Grandparents Clovis and Delphine Shot Both Sides. Uncles: Gabriel Gros Ventre Boy, Randolph Gros Ventre Boy, Calvin Shot Both Sides, Elvis Shot Both Sides, Delbert Shot Both Sides. Aunties: Clara Crying Head, Judy Gros Ventre Boy, Brett Gros Ventre Boy, Joyce Shot Both Sides. Brothers: Randall Morning Owl, Kevin & Deon Gros Ventre Boy, And Sister: Angie Shot Both Sides and Niece: Tristan Shot Both Sides.
Tanya attended school at the Lavern Elementary, Glenwood Junior High and Kainai High School. Tanya’s greatest accomplishment was becoming a Mother; she loved her children with all her heart.
She loved and cared for family members whenever they needed her. She went out of her way to help others and anyone in need.
Tanya was the most humble person who will ever meet. She had a very compassionate heart and never a mean word came from her.
Tanya will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. Her memory will be carried on in our hearts. “It isn’t what we leave behind; it’s what we leave in people’s hearts that counts.” “There are special people in our lives that never leave us even after they are gone.”
The Wake Service will be held on Sunday, October 15 at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at Legacy Funeral Home on Monday, October 16 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Blood Band Cemetery.
