John was born on March 29, 1941 to Joe Healy Jr. and Philomena Hairy Bull. John, along with his older sister, Christine, were very close to and were also raised by their Auntie and Uncle, Katie and Jim White Bull when their parents passed on. Katie and Jim also adopted Reggie White Man and all grew up close and in the Moses Lake area. His first wife was Mabel Iron Shirt (Deceased), whom he lived with for several years and they continued to reside in the Moses Lake Area. He met his wife, Rita Day Rider (Deceased), in the early 80's. They were legally married in 1985 and together they made a beautiful home and life in the Lavern Community. He was a very strong Anglican and was very committed to his marital vows. John and Rita were a team right from the start embarking on educational challenges. His age did not stop him from pursuing his education further, attending the Lethbridge Community College in the early 80's along with his wife, Rita. He was very instrumental in obtaining degrees, diplomas and certificates, which landed him a job with Blood Tribe Housing for several years. In 1990 John and Rita became members of The Horn Society, taking pleasure in yet another opportunity to care for their people. At the time of his passing, he was still a member of The Beaver Bundle. John was an avid participant at powwows as a Traditional Buckskin Dancer and met many individuals who became lasting friendships. He had a skill for making Head Dresses and enjoyed doing this as a hobby. John shared many stories of his siblings, that had predeceased him, with his nieces and nephews and showed the love and pride he had for them. John was a very kind and humble man and had a special place in his heart for all his loved ones. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rita. His parents, Joe Healy Jr. and Philomena Hairy Bull. Adopted parents, Jim and Katie (nee Healy) White Bull.
