On Friday, March 15, 2024 our beautiful mother and grandmother Lois Colleen Hopkins passed away peacefully in Lethbridge Alberta. Lois was born in Nelson BC to Elmore and Cecilia Calbick on June 22 1935. She graduated at the top of her high shool class and was employed as executive secretary before graduation. She married Alfred Hopkins on November 22, 1958 in Nelson BC.
Lois served in every auxiliary in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and especially enjoyed being Relief Society President several times. Lois and her sweetheart completed an employment service mission and served together as temple ordinance workers in the Cardston Temple for over 10 years. She also served her community by working and presiding on the Hospital Auxiliary Board for many years.
Lois was known for her energetic, loving nature. There was always a seat at the table for anyone who needed to eat or talk; there was always somewhere to sleep for those who needed shelter. She was kind; she was outspoken, she could be a force to be reckoned with, and she gave the best hugs.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband Alfred, her parents, and her sisters Joan and Alma.
She is survived by her sister Dena.
