H. FAY GIBB JOHNSON, beloved wife of the late Stanley Dale Johnson, passed away on April 6, 2017 at the age of 86 years.
Fay is survived by her children, Gary (Jennifer), Rita (Eric) Peterson, Wayne (Jocelyn), Ron (Patti) and Barbara (Gerry) Selk and her brother, Lawrence Gibb.
She was predeceased by cherished granddaughters, Ashley Johnson and Candice Johnson Zimmermann.
Fay was born April 17, 1930 in Cardston and was raised and attended school in Hillspring. After furthering her education at Brigham Young University, she returned to Alberta and married Stan, May 3, 1950. They settled in Cardston, where they remained throughout their married life.
Fay was devoted to her children and her church but for many years also made a significant contribution to the success of the family business.
As a youth, Fay participated in theatre and speech arts and was part of a troupe at BYU which entertained in that area. In spite of her shyness, she delighted audiences in Southern Alberta for many years with her comedic readings, performing at weddings, and church and civic events.
Fay was a kind and gentle soul, whose love and example blessed the lives of her immediate family together with 20 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren, and will be felt for generations to come.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, South Hill Chapel, in Cardston, on Wednesday, April 12th, at 11:00 a.m.
Friends may meet the family from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment to follow in the Cardston Cemetery.
