It is with great sadness we announce that our son and brother Kaden John Jones lost his battle with mental illness on January 11, 2024 in Magrath at the age of 26.
Kaden was born June 11, 1997 in Lethbridge Alberta and lived his whole life in Magrath. He was the only son and middle child to Todd and Shauna Jones. As the only brother he was very protective and caring about his sisters Jaelynn and Macey.
From a very young age Kaden was most happy while spending his time at his Grandparents farm south of town. He loved checking cows, branding, trips to the coulee and helping his grampa, uncle, and cousins around the farm. His whole life he enjoyed being outdoors not just at the farm but hunting, fishing and in the mountains. While growing up he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and volleyball. He also spent years in choir, piano lessons and later on in life played guitar.
Kaden attended all of his schooling in Magrath from preschool until graduation. Over the years following graduation he spent time working at the Magrath Golf Course, Loose Family Ranches and some time guiding and doing taxidermy with Trophy Zone Outfitting. He worked hard and was proud that he graduated from the Lethbridge College Ag and Heavy Equipment Technician program with a diploma in 2020.
Kaden had a huge heart and always wanted to serve those around him. He loved helping anyone in need, visiting with all his special friends, and delivering treats to all of them. The kids in his life were always spoiled with sugar…his favourite food group!
He will be remembered for his big smile and big hugs. Kaden will also be remembered for his chats and jokes he would share at the Blue Goose and Magrath Co-Op every day.
Kaden is loved and will be missed by his parents Todd and Shauna Jones. Sisters Jaelynn Jones, and Macey (Brody) Zaremba, Grandma Mary-Ann Jones and his beloved poodle Rocko. Along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. He was predeceased by his Grandpa Del Jones, Grandpa and Grandma David and Ida Taylor, and Uncle Derrel Taylor.
Friends may meet the Family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Garden Place Chapel, Magrath (170 N Center St.) on Friday, January 19 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Garden Place Chapel on Saturday, January 20 at 2:00 pm; friends may meet the family from 1:00 – 1:45 pm prior to the service. Interment will take place in the Magrath Cemetery.
