LUCILLE ELIZABETH (McLeod) LEAVITT, wife of the late Harold B. Leavitt, passed away in Cardston, Alberta on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at the age of 96 years. Lucille was born in Carmangay, AB on Apr. 2,1924, the youngest of 13 children born to her parents Annie and Wellington McLeod.
Survived by her children Vernon (Valerie) Leavitt of Lethbridge, Boyd (Nadine) Leavitt of Leavitt, Sharon (Reece) Bevans of Leavitt, Penny (Rick) Clarke of Lethbridge & son-in-law Ken Sheen of Cardston. Predeceased by her daughter Barbara Sheen (2018) and her husband Harold Leavitt (1992)
Also survived by 19 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lucille was a school teacher by profession and jack of all trades as a mother and a farmer’s wife, accomplishing most everything she set her mind to do and learn. She could remember everyone’s names and do math like a whiz even up to her last years. She was a wonderful quilter & seamstress and could do most any kind of handiwork and the hardest of jigsaw puzzles you ever would see.
A special thank you to the staff at Lee Crest, Cardston Health Centre and Dr. Justin Low for the care given to her especially in the last stages of her life.
A Viewing will be held at Legacy Funeral Home on Saturday, April 11th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A Private Family Service will follow.
