ALICE DELAINE (SMITH) LOWRY the beloved wife of the late Glen Lowry, passed away on January 28, 2016 at the age of 96. She is survived by their 7 children, Karen (Bud - deceased) Iverson, Dennis (Donna) Lowry, Lorna (Lee) Gordon, Larry (Cheryl) Lowry, Marlene (Bill) Clements, Nadine (Michael) Nelson, and Kathy (Vic) Parks, 35 grandchildren and 59 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Thora Tolley and Coleen (Ron) Osborne, and 3 sisters in law, Effie Christiansen, Donna Lowry and Orva Smith.
DeLaine was born in Eagle Hill, Alberta, but spent most of her life in the Cardston area. She inherited a wonderful sense of humor from her parents which served to even out the hills and valleys of life. Her many talents included sewing, quilting, cooking and gardening. She was a tireless worker and enjoyed serving her family and others. Her beautiful smile and caring personality brightened everyone she met.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings over the years. She truly made the temple the symbol of her membership and was a dedicated temple worker well into her 90's. She loved studying the gospel and the two missions (Indiana and England) she served with her faithful companion were a special joy in her life.
DeLaine will be sorely missed by all who were touched by her love.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Doctor Low and the staff at both Lee Crest and Chinook Lodge for the kind care they gave our mother.
Friends may meet the family at the Legacy Funeral Home, ONLY on Friday, February 5th from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, TEMPLE STREET CHAPEL on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Taylorville Cemetery.
