ADRIAN “BUCK” MANY FINGERS, (Sikapiohkitopi) passed away on June 8th, 2020 in Lethbridge, AB at the age of 76 years. A great cowboy has rode away to finish his journey to the Great rodeo in heaven. His loving memories are left with his “Honey”, Geraldine, grandchildren, that Buck and Geraldine raised, Shaqeala (Baby Bronxton), Bailey (Baby Havanna), his “Darius Boy” his “Baby and Queen” Mikayla, Buck’s daughter Lynette (Kerry) Scott,  his grandson Joseph. His stepsons Joe and Robin (Jay, Emma, Mason, Renae) Dion (son Xavier), Waylon and Melissa (Jazzlynn), family member Daisy Eagle Tail Feathers. At the start of his rodeo career Buck was taught by his dad Frank on how to spur and ride with one hand. With this advice Buck won many steer riding events. A story shared by his friend Larry Provost: Buck showed up at the Standoff rodeo under the influence, he asked, “is my horse out?” Larry said, “no, your next, but you shouldn’t ride;  besides where are your hat and boots?”  The Cowboys quickly dressed Buck, he rode his horse. After the rodeo Buck went to Larry with a shaking finger at Larry he said, “I just want to tell you, I won!” In the 1970s Buck travelled the western United States, he had many adventures in California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. He had various jobs, he had a good work ethic instilled by his parents. His greatest adventure was jumping freight trains with friends Rusty Big Eye, Bobby Little Mustache, Gus Calf Robe, and Ray Panther Bone; he shared stories of how he and his best friend Roland Big Throat survived many mischievous adventures. Also how his cousin Sugar Red Crow would get into a bind and Buck had to help him out. When Buck first arrived to the USA his mentor was Ray Black Water. After being picked up for drinking, and the second court appearance in a row, the judge told them to extend their arms if they shook it was a jail sentence. Buck didn’t shake, but Ray did, fearing jail time Ray said, “excuse me your honor I can’t go to jail I have to look out for my little brother he’s a rookie and needs my help.” The judge told them to get out of town or it will be a 30 day sentence if they appeared in his court again. They went to Minnie Cole’s residence, she packed him a lunch and her husband brought them to the train they got on a “hot shot” and were in Wenatchee Washington in no time. In 1988, buck started his Sobriety journey, he always gave credit to his sister Coltilda Soop for finding him an outstanding treatment center. Not long after treatment, he started his cattle ranching.  When he and Geraldine started living together, in 1996, they work side-by-side to make it a successful ranch. He always told her the herd grew real fast since we have been together. He shared his fencing, roping skills, and how to throw down horses and cattle to his step sons and their friends. His branding day was a big event, he had several branding crews, his in-laws, where a few calves were saved for the girls, Terry, Cher, Dallas, Amanda, and Dawn English. It was the main event.  Robert, Matt, Steven, Rayne, Lorraine and Joe Bruised Head. Also Shaw, Liam, Chase, and Adien Scout with Wyatt Wynder and Bailey Scout the cowgirl,  Sam and the Cowboys from U Elm colony. Buck had a love for auctions. Every Tuesday he and Darius would go to the Lenz Auction. On the weekends Buck and Geraldine would go to the Farmer auctions and meet up with Clifford Sweet Grass, the boys name them the twins. There is a plaque on their bedroom wall that reads “Always kiss me good night”, that was their motto– they always kissed before parting. If people were around Buck would secretly blow his “Honey” a kiss. The day after Buck’s passing, Geraldine was instructed to go to Lethbridge Regional Hospital and tell Buck to start his journey and to call his parents and ask them to come for their son. That night Dion had a dream, Frank was standing there with two horses, Buck and his dad were smiling at each other. Frank gave Buck one horse and said “Ki” (let’s go.) Buck had many friends, some who have passed on like Hugh Scout, Puncho Heavy Runner, and Frances Scout. He will be missed by his friend since childhood Sam Day Chief. If any of his friends have not been mentioned, we apologize as this is a very difficult time. Buck was predeceased by his parents Kate (nee Red Crow) and Frank Many Fingers, siblings, Coltilda Soop,  baby Jane, Franklin, Jordan, Brent, and Killian.
