JASON CLARK MANY FINGERS “Samakiina” (Spear Man)
Jason was called home to our Creator on October 30th, 2020 near the SpringGlen Park, Blood Reserve. He was born at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on January 9th, 1974. Jason is survived by his special daughter, Shelby also his other daughters Paige & Tylee, and son Bryce; his parents Randolph and Marjorie; sister Randi Lynn; and brother Leon. Jason grew up near the Fish Creek area on the Blood Reserve and at Waterton Park Townsite. Jason attended school at Park Meadows Elementary in Lethbridge, Raymond Elementary and also Cardston Junior & Senior High School. He graduated from the Kainai High School. He attended and graduated from the Blackfeet Community College in Browning, MT in the Human Resources Services Program. Jason had a passion for the game of Hockey; he played minor hockey in Lethbridge, Cardston and Kainai. He won Native provincials with Kainai in the Atoms, Bantams, Midget, and Junior categories. Jason went on to play for the Kainai Golden Chiefs Junior B Team. They played in their leagues and also in tournaments in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northern Alberta. They won most of their tournaments. The highlight of Jason and his teammates was when the Red Army Juniors from Russia came and played them in Standoff. He went on to play Senior Hockey and had his own team, The Machine. They won numerous tournaments. His nickname in Hockey was “Morsey”. Jason also played baseball, softball, and football. His main interest was Track and Field. He specialized in the javelin throw, where he won the South Zone in High School. He represented Team Alberta, in Prince Albert, SK and also in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, U.S.A. He medaled in these events and got his Blackfoot name “Samakiina” for his Javelin Throwing. Jason worked on the reserve and later on worked at the Lethbridge Research Station in Agriculture. He also worked on the family ranch with horses, cows, and upkeep of buildings. After his college graduation he worked for Red Crow Community College off campus in Lethbridge. Later he worked in Calgary as a home builder, he was in his 2nd year carpentry when he came back from Calgary. He started working at the multipurpose building as security and maintenance until his passing. Jason will be missed by his hockey and golfing buddies Troy, Brad, Danny, Scotty, Dean, Todd, and Joe. His co-workers will also miss him, mostly Amanda. Besides his daughters and son, Jason is survived by his aunties Marion Stewart Weasel Moccasin, Louise (Derrick) Carmon, Carol, Cynthia (Harris); uncles, Hugh, Floyd (Theda), Harvey (Marianne) Healy, Rusty (Toby) Manyfingers. He had a special bond with his Healy and Manyfingers cousins. We are writing this letter to let you know how much we will miss you. We love you dearly and we are deeply saddened by the way you left us. You slipped gently into the arms of Jesus and your sister Jeanine and nephew Dulin, your grandparents, Fanny and Hugh Healy, Marjorie and especially your grandpa Floyd.
The Wake Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Thursday, November 12 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home on Friday, November 13th at 11:00 am. Interment in the Many Fingers Family Cemetery.
