DIANE MARGUERITE MILLER nee Underhill
Born February 2, 1957 in Bella Coola B.C. to Robert and Doreen Underhill, the younger sister of Rodney she was raised in Bella Coola where she enjoyed a childhood filled with horses, music and sewing. She completed her grade 11 year of schooling in Bella Coola and moved to Kelowna for her final year of high school.
After completing high school, she moved to Terrace BC to start a secretarial program at Northwestern Community College. Shortly thereafter she met the love of her life Jason Miller and they were married on June 13, 1978 for time and all eternity in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They settled and started their life together in Terrace, where they blessed with three beautiful children Daniel, Stephanie and Jocelyn. Through those years her talents in music and sewing only continued to grow and a love of flowing gardening also blossomed. In 1998 the family relocated to Airdrie Alberta for Jason’s work and it was during that time that Diane became a family history buff as well. She has researched many of her lines back to ancient times and has helped many others do the same. Shortly thereafter she also began serving at the Cardston Temple as an organist and would make the weekly six hour round trip drive with Jason, or other various friends but often on her own every Saturday no matter the weather. She continued this service for five years until her health would no longer allow her to do so. In the summer of 2015 Jason, Diane and the girls moved to Aetna Alberta where Diane spent the last year of her life, although in pain and dealing with many health issues happy with where they were and loving the space they had to live.
Diane passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday September 12, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends at the Chinook Regional Hospital.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Jason Miller of Aetna Alberta, Son and Daughter in law Daniel and Keltie Miller of Lethbridge Alberta and their children Colton, Kezia, Dylon, Isabella, Tait and Brielle, Daughters Stephanie Miller of Aetna Alberta and Jocelyn Miller of Aetna Alberta.
