It brings us great sadness to announce the passing of our dear brother JOEY DWAYNE MORNING OWL on September 26th, 2020 at 9:43 pm at the Lethbridge Chinook Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Joey was born on August 22nd, 1985 to the late Denise Morning Owl and the late Glen Dwayne Eagle Speaker but was raised by his great grand mother's Jean Bellows and Leona Eagle Speaker.
Joey is survived by his 5 children: 4 from the United States, Joshua, Denise, Cecelia, Jillian and 1 Daughter in Canada, Shontae Big Throat.
Adopted Mother (Sister) Faith(Jayson) Morning Owl; 4 Biological siblings, Fernando (Olivia) Morning Owl, and Wayne Jr, Aaron, Shayann Eagle Speaker from the United States; 11 Adopted Siblings; Darcy, Destiny (Gideon), Domanique (Koose), Stacy, Panda, Jack (Angie), Seth (Teesh), Kelly (Homer) Clayton, Kaysea and Tazz Morning Owl; 40 Nephews/Nieces and 10 Grand Nieces/Nephews; 2 Uncles; Clyde (Crystal) Eagle Speaker, Marlin (Sally) Eagle Speaker; 5 Aunties Glenda (Baron), Linda (Rocky), Diane, Marlene and Aunty Lorraine.
Joey was a Proud Father of 5, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and recreational activities as a young individual. Joey’s passion was grass dancing, and he made a name for himself traveling the pow-wow trail with his father through out the United States and Canada. As the years passed Joey found peace in his drawing, making beautiful art work. Joey was a Kind Hearted individual giving what he could even if it was just a helping hand, Joey had a sense of humor that always left you with a smile, he surely was the Crazy Uncle making you laugh and telling his story of all the journeys and adventures.
Joey was predeased by his parents: Denise Morning Owl and Dwayne Eagle Speaker.

As well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins – the family apologizes for any names that may have been missed and would like to Thank all that help in laying a dear brother to rest.

A Candlelight Vigil will be held on Thursday, October 1st at 7:00 pm at the Civic Ice Center (905 - 6th Ave. South, Lethbridge). A Wake Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Friday, October 2nd from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. A Viewing will be held at Legacy Funeral Home on Saturday, October 3rd from 11:00 - 1:00 pm with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm. Interment in the St. Paul’s Cemetery.
