Derek James Olson
May 22, 1946 to October 2, 2020
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Derek James Olson who transitioned peacefully from his Earthly body on October 2, 2020.
Held in high regard and deep admiration, he is survived by his sister Elaine (Claudio), brother George (Mary), daughter Cathleen, and son Jason (Jodi). He was a loyal, loving and dedicated husband to his wife of 29 years, Diana, and is also fondly remembered by her children Ganis (Susan), Liana, Karl (Maria), Sara, Michelle (Ryan). He holds a special place in the hearts of his nephew Travis, nieces Karen, Debbie (Todd) and Deanna (Eric); grandchildren Matthew, Marshall, Vanessa, Dawson, Liam, Jaelyn, Taegan, Katlin, Leah, Victoria and Kira, and great grandchildren Charles, Theodore, Avalynn and Reina.
Derek was a kind, generous, candid, creative, and quick witted advisor, companion, and friend to many. An outstanding craftsman, gifted hypnotherapist, he will be deeply missed and will live forever in our hearts.
A celebration of the gift of his life will be held on Thursday October 8, 2020 at the Legacy Funeral Home 107 6 St W, Cardston, Alberta. Viewing will start at 10:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM.
