LYNDA GAIL ORR most excellent mother and bestest friend of Shari L. Orr was born on June 8, 1950 along with her other half Larry Orr in the Lethbridge Municipal Hospital. She was raised in Coutts, AB where she attended the Coutts school from grades 1 through 9. Lynda went on to graduate from Erle Rivers High School. Lynda was an excellent student who was liked by all. She finished here education at Modern College of Business in Calgary where she studied Business Administration. Lynda began working for Canada Customs, and she was in uniform for several years and then promoted to the Lethbridge office and then on to Calgary where she ended her Public Service Career as the Assistant to the District Manager of Southern Alberta. You would be hard pressed to find one of her co-workers who did not respect Lynda. She continued many of those relationships into her final days. Lynda retired with a golden handshake after 24 years of service in 1995. Lynda had many titles in her life: daughter, sister, "Easter auntie", mother, teacher, friend, cheerleader (not literally), mentor, chauffeur, and caregiver. She adored children and availed herself of every opportunity to be with them. From primary teacher to reading buddy, and from Lego League Facilitator to world’s best auntie no child went unloved or undervalued on her watch. Lynda transitioned from this world into the next on May 7, 2020. Her loss will be felt by too many for too long. Lynda was predeceased by her parents Ken & Marie Orr as well as her sisters Kay Orr & June Berezay. She is survived by her only child Shari L. Orr and her siblings Bernice Mattson, Lloyd (Lola) Sillito, Larry (Linda Kearsley) Orr, and David (Chris Lianga) Orr. The hold she leaves behind will not easily be filled. She leaves a legacy of love like no other. Her nieces & nephews she loved as her own children –children she treated as she did her own family. She made each child feel as if they were her favorite, her special one. In truth, they each were. Due to COVID-19 restrictions a family graveside service will be held at the Hartley cemetery.
