It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson DRADON LEE RODNEY PLAITED HAIR “DRA” (Aakai’tapi).  Dradon was born December 14th, 1999 in Cardston, AB and suddenly passed away on the Blood Reserve on July 28th, 2019 due to a medical illness.  Dradon is the oldest son of Kevin Plaited Hair and Shannon Eagle Speaker and brother to Leland and Kenny and the late Kevin Wallace Junior “KJ”; and sisters, Cassidy, Dakota, and Brooklyn.  Dradon recently graduated from Victoria Park High School, Lethbridge, AB in June 2019 with his High School Diploma. He also returned on July 8, 2019 from fire fighting up in Northern Alberta for 21 days.  Dradon loved to hang out with his parents and brothers; he loved laying down his tracks and lyrics and also creating his own music.  Dradon loved listening to music and playing his game system and also spending time with his companion and friend Brownwyn and his dog and special boy Spike.  Dradon was a proud member of the Brave Dog Society–joining along with his late little brother KJ at a young age. He was an active member of the society participating in sweats, ceremonies, bundle openings etc.  Dradon was a very quiet and humble young man, who loved to be dressed up to the nines and took a lot of pride in his appearance.  Dradon’s maternal grandparents are Sharon Eagle Speaker and the late John Francis Melting Tallow (Redcrane) and his paternal grandparents Shirley Plaited Hair and Kenny Wolf, Onion Lake, SK.  Dradon is also survived by his Great aunties, Levena Devine, Ramona First Rider (Ervin), Wanda Eagle Speaker, Cindy Plaited Hair (Dewey), Connie Plaited Hair, Debbie Plaited Hair, Philomena Melting Tallow (Rusty), Freda Melting Tallow, Charlene Brown Weasel; Great uncles, Winston Bruised Head (Lavina), Myron Eagle Speaker (Tanya), Tom Bruised Head, Ronnie Bruised Head, Sidney Plaited Hair, Bobby Plaited Hair, Frank Plaited Hair, Johnny Plaited Hair (Miranda) and Floyd Melting Tallow (Sharon); also friend, mentor and teacher from Kainai High School - Karen Andruschak, who showed tremendous support in Dradon’s education endeavors and achievements.  Dradon is also survived by his extended families- Eagle Speaker, Plaited Hair, Melting Tallow, Black Face, Black Fored Head and Wolf Child.  Dradon joins his little brother KJ and many more relatives that have gone into the Happy Hunting Grounds.  

The Wake Service will be held on Thursday, August 8th, at White Calf Hall, Standoff from 7:00 – continuing all night. 
The Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Friday, August 9th, at 11:00 a.m.
