SCOTTIE ERIC PLAITED HAIR
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving companion, dad, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend on January 9th, 2023 at the age of 43 years. Scottie was born on May 28th, 1979 at the Cardston Municipal Hospital to Eric Plaited Hair and the late Judy Gros Ventre Boy. Scottie was raised on the Blood Reserve. He attended and received his formal education at the Stand Off Elementary, Fort Macleod G.R/Davis and Kainai High Schools. In 2008, he met his loving companion Brooks Crow Spread His Wings. They gave birth to two beautiful sons, Eric and Tommy Plaited Hair. After the birth of their children, they relocated and resided in Lethbridge, Alberta. Living in the city, Scottie was employed at the Maple Leaf Meat Processing and Packaging Plant for several years then moved onto various kinds of employment opportunities.
In his earlier years, besides his parents, Scottie was raised alongside his grandmother Amy Plaited Hair. He had an unconditional love for his grandmother. He loved and cared for his mother Judy most deeply and her sudden death was most devastating. Scottie loved his wife Brooks. She was his best friend and companion. He enjoyed the company of his auntie Lavern and his cousins Trevor, Brandon and Lyndon. Residing in Lethbridge, Lavern and her boys became Scottie and Brook’s ultimate supporters.
Scottie had a loving relationship with his dad and step-mother. Their loving relationship was a blessing. Eric and Monica loved, nurtured, gave and supported their children to the fullest. They traveled, shared stories and did so many things together and they would often sit and talk about the important issues of life, laugh at funny life events and tease each other. Christmas was Scottie’s favorite time of the year because family meant a lot to him. He especially enjoyed family barbecues and fishing. Scottie loved his siblings. He would listen, support and often lend a helping hand. He was full of humor, always playing practical jokes and teasing his brothers and sisters. One by one each grew up and they moved on with life. He was always so happy and greeted his step siblings with a hug or handshake. In the end, he spent a lot of time with Robbie, Hazel and Memphis in Lethbridge eating out, going to the movies, hanging out at the mall and visiting. Scottie made so many friends and he treated his friends with kindness and respect. He became a close friend to Franklin Crazy Bull.
