GENEVIEVE BUTLER PRETE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Cardston Alberta, at the home of her daughter Alanna Laverock. Genevieve was born in Cardston, Alberta to Ula (Rice) and G. Milton Butler on Aug 23, 1926.
She was the third eldest in a family of seven, with siblings Duenna, Marvin, Norma, Duane, Theola, and Gary. She is survived by her two sisters Duenna and Theola. She married John H. Prete on July 21, 1948 in the Cardston Alberta Temple. Genevieve was greatly loved by her 9 children, 37 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her beautiful sunny smile, kindness, gentle heart, service and exemplary virtue. Her greatest joys were her family, temple-work and serving two church missions with her beloved Johnny. She will be greatly missed, but we feel joy in our hearts that she is now reunited with her husband and loved ones.
The Funeral Service was be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel in Cardston, on Wednesday, February 1st, at 11:00 a.m.
Friends met the family from 10:00 -10:45 am prior to the service. Interment to follow in the Cardston Cemetery.
