It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Haylee Marie Quesnelle, who unexpectedly passed away on May 6, 2023 at the age of 20 years old. Haylee was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her and her departure has left an irreplaceable void in our hearts. Born on April 29th, 2003 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Haylee was was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. She possessed a kind and compassionate spirit that radiated warmth and love to everyone she encountered. Her presence was like a gentle breeze, comforting and soothing, and her laughter was infectious, filling the room with joy.
Haylee was the eldest daughter of the late Gracie and Tyler Quesnelle/Blackwater. Haylee attended Kainai High school, Catholic Central High school and Victoria Park High school, and would’ve been a graduate of Victoria Park High school 2023. Haylee had a strong passion for makeup and hair and wanted to pursue into that career path. She had previously participated in basketball, cross-country running, and was a devoted member of the Kainai Cadets in her younger years. Haylee had a deep appreciation for nature and makeup. She found solace in the beauty of the world around her and expressed her creativity through various mediums. Whether it was her doing makeup or taking breathtaking pictures her creativity captivated us all and left an indelible mark on our hearts.
Haylee’s unwavering devotion to her family and friends made her a pillar of strength and inspiration to us all even in the face of adversity; she approached life with grace and unwavering determination. Her unwavering spirit continues to inspire us to face challenges head-on and to live each day to the fullest and to remind us of the importance of giving back and spreading kindness. Haylee leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. She will forever be cherished by her siblings, Paris, Hazel and Cloudlyn, her grandmother Lorraine Black Water, grandfather Peter Wolf Child; the late Rocky Quesnelle and the late Debbie Plaited Hair; and her extended families the Quesnelles, Black Waters, and Plaited Hairs, along with numerous friends. May her soul find eternal peace, and may we find comfort in the memories we shared. Although our hearts ache with the loss of Haylee we take solace in the knowledge that she is now reunited with her beloved parents and others departed loved ones Her spirit will forever live on in our memories and her influence will confide to guide us as we navigate life’s journey.
A Wake Service will be held at Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Thursday, May 18 from 3:00 -11:00 pm and continue on Friday from 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in St. Catherine’s cemetery, Stand Off.
