MICHAEL RABBIT
March 12, 1967 - April 19, 2016
Sadly and sorrowfully we announce the loss of a dear husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Michael passed away with family by his side on Monday April 18, 2016 at the Cardston Hospital. His memory will remain in the lives of his loved ones left on earth especially his Wife of 35 years Lorraine, Children; Michelle (Lee), Ashley(Bobby Morning Owl deceased), Mitchell, Emma (Colton) and MJ, Grandchildren; Latrell, Phoenix, Aaliyah, Kyra and Tyce, Brothers & Sister; Andrew (Micheline), Homer (Donna), Bruce (Trina), Wayne, Norm and Brenda; and extended family too numerous to mention.
Anyone who had the privilege of spending time with Michael will miss his kind and humble ways. It was his sincerity when asking about extended family or doing what was necessary to provide for his wife and children that stood out. He adored his grandchildren taking delight in their companionship relishing their time together in fun and play. Michaels work history included Blood Tribe Department of Health, Moses Lake Shelter, Foot Patrol in Standoff and Levern. Albert’s Gas Bar was his last place of employment sometimes missing a shift or two at but he always managed to get his job back. His children saw him as a man of few words but when he spoke they listened and they remember the good advice he gave. He wanted his children to get an education and to participate in sports. Michael used music to wake his kids for school, Monday to Friday he blasted Abba or The Beatles on his stereo early in the morning to get everybody out of bed and off to school. Lorraine and Michael attended college both graduating in 2002. While at Red Crow Community College Michael was voted in as President of Student Council proving he was a popular guy amongst his colleagues.
The Levern Blues started out in 1982 Michael being one of the original seven. They won championships in the Major Men’s Fastball league in Calgary and did well in the Brandon Canadian Championships placing 2nd each time they went to play there. The Levern Blues were a strong team and hard to beat, their fame put the community of Levern on the map, Michael was proud to be a part of that. All of us will miss his quiet demeanor and caring ways.
We are comforted knowing that family gone before him will greet him with open arms Parents; Celina Hairy Bull and Joseph Rabbit; Siblings Curtis, James, Joseph, Robert and Jody.
A Wake Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Tuesday, April 26th from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, South Hill Chapel, Cardston on Wednesday, April 27th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Rabbit Cemetery.
