It is with sadness and much love that the family of ROBERT RABBIT say goodbye and announce the passing of their beloved father, grandfather, brother and Uncle on April 7, 2016 in Lethbridge, at the age of 48 years. Left to cherish his memory are his Children; Desmond (Chelsea), Meaghan (Lyle), Celine and Robert Jr. Grandchildren; Landon, Hunter, Eli, Hayley, Karissa, Chester, Ava Lyn, Julian and Casey, Brothers: Andrew (Micheline), Homer (Donna), Michael (Lorraine), Bruce (Trina), Wayne and Norm, Sisters; Brenda, Frances and Evelyn (Ed).
Robert began his education in his home community of Levern and later at St. Mary’s Kainai High School. His expertise was in construction working several years in Sik ooh kotoki for different companies. Robert was very athletic participating in volleyball and long distance running but fastball was his passion. While he won many road races his athleticism and skill were better portrayed in his ability as a Pitcher for the Levern Blues winning many championships and earning several MVP awards along the way. One cannot think of Robert without remembering his sense of humour; if he knew he was in trouble with family he told a few jokes to get them laughing and very quickly everyone forgot they were even upset with him. Robert cared deeply for his family no matter where he was he called his children to chat a bit and to inquire about his grandchildren.
So many people will miss him.
Robert leaves our family on earth to join loved ones passed on before him; Mom and Dad – Celina Hairy Bull and Joseph Rabbit.
Brothers; Curtis, James and Joseph. His sister, Jodie Day Chief. His son; Justin Eagle Plume.
A Wake Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Thursday, April 14th from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Friday, April 15th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Rabbit Cemetery.
