It is with great sadness that the Family announces the passing of Joannah Rae Marie Red Crow (McDonald).
Joannah Rae Marie Red Crow was born at the Cardston Hospital on May 13, 1985. She was raised by Conrad and Marjorie McDonald on the Blood Indian Reserve.
She leaves behind her Dad Mervin McDonald and Sister Marjorie Ann (Sinay) Red Crow, Brothers Jakey McDonald, Joey Iron Shirt and Jay Twigg (Phebe). Auntie Sherry Red Crow and her Children Neveah Long Time Squirrel, Bently Red Crow and JR Red Crow, Grandpa Conrad McDonald and Uncle Lloyd McDonald. Surviving nieces include Judy Francis Red Crow, Josh, Joy, Lee, Tylor, Elisa and Winter. Cousins Jamie Red Crow, Adam Red Crow and Les (Niomi) Melting Tallow.
Joannah was predeceased by her Mother Judy Red Crow, Sister Katherine Red Crow, Daughter Paisly Red Crow, Grand Parents John Red Crow, Donalda Red Crow, Grandmother Marjorie McDonald, Uncles Eldon McDonald, Alvin McDonald, Jonathan Red Crow, Harry Red Crow and Louis Red Crow
Joannah attended school at St. Mary's, St. Francis and Catholic Central in Lethbridge. Jonah was raised by her dad and grandparents. She was raised going to church and did her First Communion. She never missed the Lac St. Anne Pilgrimage.
She did everything with her cousin/sister Katherine. They travelled together every summer for Powwows, and her best Trip was to Great Falls. She travelled every summer to West Edmonton Mall.
Joannah met Nathan Long Time Squirrel, the true love of her life. The greatest thing for her was her Beautiful Daughter, Nevaeh Long Time Squirrel, her pride and joy. She loved Nevaeh and was always proud of the school work she took home, keeping everything and then lost her Daughter Paisley at nine months
She always wanted to put a smile on your face. She had a gentle voice, was shy and loved her children.
A Wake Service will be held at the Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Tuesday April 25, 2023 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
