“Blue Wings Woman”
The Creator called home our sweet angel, Kristen Skye at the tender age of 24 years. Kristen was born the oldest daughter to the late Shyanne Lee Plain Woman and Kristian Timothy Scout. She leaves to cherish her memories, her one and only daughter, Serenity Ryah Kyce Scout from her childhood sweetheart, Brandon Eagle Plume. She leaves to mourn, her siblings: Benjamin, Kayla (Matthew), Kristian Lee (Isabelle), Timothy “T.J.”, Savannah, Jordan, Kaiden; her maternal grandparents who raised her, Arnold and Cheryl Shouting; paternal grandparents, the late Rosetta Scout and Jordan Chief Moon; aunties maternal: Tara Michelle (Waylow), Paula (Nelson), and Angela; paternal: Lenora, Kim (Guy), Arlene (Todd), Natasha (Nick) and Chantal; uncle maternal: Barkley; nephew Kylen; great aunts and uncles: Jenny Low Horn, Mary-Louise (Norbert0 Fox, Roseanna Scout, Ray Black Plume and Lavern Scout. The family would like to include family members too numerous to mention such as her cousins, friends and family members, Kristen touched each one with her friendly and kind personality.
Kristen spent the majority of her childhood in Levern, Blood Reserve, as well as Lethbridge. She attended Levern, Hillspring, Park Meadows Elementary Schools, as well as Taksikiisaapo’p Middle School and Kainai High School. Kristen was determined to give her daughter a better life, so she enrolled in upgrading at Red Crow College, her latest endeavor the UCEP program. She also enrolledd in numerous programs at BTEST and completed them. She was so proud of her achievements and proudly displayed her certificates.
Kristen was a unique individual with a mind of her own. She loved to keep journals, word search magazines as well as the stress relieving coloring books As a child, Kristen was an animal lover, taking in stray dogs. Her two childhood dogs she showered with love were Butch and Angel, later on she added princess to her dog family. She loved horses and her dream was to own a horse. Her love of horses evolved from her childhood interest in unicorns.
Kristen enjoyed music, one would always find her with her earphones on listening and jamming out to her favorite tunes. Kristen loved her Facebook and was always taking selfies, especially with her daughter, Serenity, the love of her life. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. This last summer she especially enjoyed helping her grand parents at the Sundance where she received her Indian name “Blue Wings Woman”. She was so proud of it.
Kristen tried so hard to support her daughter, working security at the Kainai Indian Days for at least 3-4 years.
In the last years, Kristen started battling personal demons and obstacles and went astray. It was her falily’s love and support that Kristen went into detox and treatment at St. Paul’s. She received a certificate and was proud of her achievement. She was so determined to get her daughter back. This was the driving force to overcome her obstcles and determination to get Serenity back.
Kristen was predeceased by her mother Shyanne Lee Plain Woman, cousin Dash Drew Weasel Head, grandmother Rosetta Scout, aunties Melody Scout and Mavis Shot Both Sides, uncle Simon Scout as well as numerous family members to welcome her home.
We will miss Kristen’s smile, generosity and kind personality. She was a humble and caring person who gave unconditionally. Kristen will be deeply missed and the memories that she left wii be cherished by all who knew her. Her family includes the Shouting, Scout, Plain Woman, Black Plume, Chief Moon and Little Moustache. The family apologizes to those whose names were missed..
A viewing will be held at the Legacy Funeral Home, in Cardston on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a Family Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. (Due to to COVID-19 - A limit of 10 people will be allowed in the building at a time.)
