It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend Camilla ‘Daisy’ Shouting on February 5, 2022 in Lethbridge, Alberta. Daisy was born on July 12, 1987 in Cardston, Alberta to Don Bottle and Yvonne Gros Ventre Boy. Daisy attended Levern and Cardston Elementary school, Wilson Middle School, and Cardston High School. She went on to graduate from Red Crow College in 2016 and enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program at Lethbridge College where she attended from there on.
Daisy met a lot of friends along the way while she attended various schools all of whom she kept in contact with throughout her life. Her friend Hazel held a very special place in her heart as they kept in close contact although they were miles apart. Daisy welcomed her first born, and best friend, Blossom Faith into this world in 2002. Blossom brought so much joy into her moms life and Daisy was eager to raise and teach her all that she knew about life. Their bond was full of love, laughter, kindness, and could be seen by the way they looked at each other. Daisy met Paul a couple years later, when Blossom was three years old, and together they had three gorgeous boys; Zander, Braxton, and Cassius. Daisy and Paul raised Blossom and the boys in Lethbridge, Alberta. They bought their first house together and Daisy was excited to decorate it and made sure her children lived a comfortable life working hard to provide for them. Daisy loved to sew and create new things to foster her children’s growth and was often making them props to fit their imaginative goals, whether they were pirates for a day or superheroes. She loved making gifts for the whole family including her nieces and nephews during holidays. She enjoyed making regalia for her children and often brought them to pow-wows or dance demonstrations throughout the city. Daisy was very involved in several community organizations within the city, with her children, where she was recognized as a role model family throughout the city of Lethbridge. She enjoyed taking her children to all the different parks throughout the city, swimming and travelling with her best friend Olive throughout Southern Alberta, Saskatchewan, and B.C. to go camping. She was especially excited to attend the Peace Powwow because she often brought her friend Olive with her. They were inseparable. She also enjoyed spending time with her sister-in-law Adeline Parinduri and her son Zem. Her nephews and nieces were never left out of the picture. She always made sure Bentley had his crafting supplies and snacks and was always ready to sew superhero costumes for Aiden. She was excited when she learned she was going to be an aunty to her first niece, Kinsley, and was always buying her cute clothes and bags to match her personality. They liked to get dressed up and wear matching red lipstick when she would visit. All her nieces and nephews had a special place in her heart, and she always went above and beyond to shower them with love and guidance. She was Momma to her special nephew Hunter, because of the resemblance between her and her sister Kristy, but she didn’t mind being momma to him, she would always give him lots of love, hugs, and kisses. She was especially excited for her brothers Phillip and Anthony when their sons were born and often showered them with gifts. Her aunts’ and uncles had special nicknames for her, and she would often just laugh at them one in particular was from her aunt Joan who called her Driving Miss Daisy.
Daisy was known for her laughter, humour, and ability to connect with everyone that she met on her journey. She loved to make create beautiful things for everyone in her life, whether it was sewing blankets for new parents, making moccasins, regalia, shawls, or knitting scarfs and toques for those that she knew. Keeping herself busy with her crafts was her way of showing others that she cared for them by providing one-of-a-kind items for individuals.
Daisy worked hard, and although she had many struggles in her life, she was always looking for the positive side of life and could be heard laughing from a distance. Daisy worked for several years at South Walmart where she met many great friends. She made Walmart an enjoyable place to work because of her humour and outgoing happy personality. When her parents went to Walmart they knew exactly where to find her from the laughter and noise between her and her coworkers and they would often tell her ‘Mom and dad are here’.
This approach to life was taught to her by her parents and they always encouraged her to try hard in life and to be kind to those that she met in life. Daisy was always willing to help those that needed it and would always remind her parents, children, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends how much she cared and loved them at the end of every visit. Daisy loved life and loved to laugh, which was infectious to any one who met her and had the chance to sit and joke around with her. The ability to laugh at life and love unconditionally is what Daisy leaves behind for those that knew her. She held a special bond to all that knew her, and she will be deeply missed and remembered for her kind and loving personality.
