Lancy, aka my Fancy, went to school in Fort Macleod AB. W.A. Day, then GR Davis. She then moved onto F.P. Walshe School where she joined the basketball team, she just loved playing basketball at this time. Lancy never liked being in one place, so she moved on to bigger and better things. Lancy Mae was very animated and talked through her hands, she worked a lot of construction jobs in Calgary (doing demo & restoration). Lancy had a huge love for Art and Music, where she received one of her many awards in Art. Lancy was also a part of a city project, also a mural on the side of a skate shack in Ramsey on Scotch Men’s hill. She won “The Youth of Distinction Award”, and she was also a part of the Animation Society of Calgary. Lancy left a big impression on everyone she gifted her time with her artistic talents, including Jessy, Marty, Dallas, and Jr. whom all enjoyed every story and experience she had to share. Lancy was the type of person to light up every room she entered, always making an energetic entrance. In her last moments she said herself “I just loved the way my nieces and nephews would greet me”, because it didn’t matter what they were doing at that moment they would drop everything to greet their special aunt. Lancy was a very kind and selfless woman, always trying to help out the family. Especially during funerals didn’t matter where she was, we always know she was coming to help in any way she could. As fast as she showed up for funerals/ holidays etc., she’d be gone just as fast as she came. She loved to travel, the reason she couldn’t stay in one place.
