EVA MATKIN THOMPSON
How do you condense a rich full life of 103 years into a few paragraphs? EVA MATKIN THOMPSON was born May 10, 1917 in Cardston to Heber and Loreen Matkin and passed away there November 1, 2020.
She leaves to mourn her passing, 3 children, Linda Saxton (VerDell-deceased), Michael (Carol) and Chery Tingey and was predeceased by Kendall (Jan) as well as her beloved husband Bill.
Eva loved beauty and created it where ever she went. She was a true advocate for the motto “Bloom where you are planted”. She devoted her life to her family and to her church where she filled teaching and leadership callings. She especially loved her temple service, which she continued faithfully until she was 95.
Eva was a cheerful volunteer in many community projects, such as The Red Cross Drive, The Dorothy Gooder School for handicapped children and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She loved her flower garden and the beauties of nature as well as travelling with her dear husband to many different countries.
Eva will be remembered for her great love and compassion which radiated from her and her sincere appreciation for all she met.
Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home on Friday November 6, 2020 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. Special thanks to the Good Samaritan Society at Lee Crest for her care.
(Due to COVID-19 restrictions a limited number will be allowed into the service at a time.)
