LACEY NICOLE TWIGG
Piitaatsuakii (Beautiful Eagle Woman) was born to Sandra Twigg and Arnold (Bianca) Mountain Horse on April 11, 1986. Lacey’s journey on earth was concluded as she entered the happy hunting grounds on May 4, 2020 at Chinook Regional Hospital.
Lacey leaves to mourn her loving daughter Shataya Skye. Parents: Sandra Twigg and Arnold (Bianca), and Momma Joanne Twigg. Sisters: Trisha, Miranda and Kyresse Mountain Horse. Brothers: Jamie, Cory Twigg and Kodie & Quaide Mountain Horse. Nephews: Kobe and Derek Twigg. Niece: Sinaya Calling Last. Grandma: Mary Twigg. Aunts: Sally (Homer) English, Sharon Bottle, Christine (Ervin) Shade, Rhoda Bottle, Mae Singer, Ruby Eagle Tail Feathers, Lenora Many Fingers and Lisa Twigg. Uncles: Robert (Angeline), Merlin, Brian and Dennis Twigg. Rody Bottle, Jake (Caroline) Mountain Horse, Kevin Mountain Horse and Chester Twigg. Additional siblings: Bryan Bottle, Dorothy Mountain Horse, Denise (Geraldine) Bottle, Amanda, Casey Bottle; Robin Lee Twigg; Crystal English; Dikki Shade; Cora, Jhaunie, Elaina, and Josh Mountain Horse; Jodi Crying Head and Leita Scout. Including numerous nieces and nephews.
At the age of six, Lacey wanted to dance Powwow. Sandra and Arnold had ensured that she was fitted from head to toe in her dance regalia, as she danced both fancy and jingle. Lacey continued to attend powwows, to socialize and partake in the celebrations.
All of those who knew Lacey have shared how blessed they where to know her through her journey. Lacey was witty and had a keen sense of humor. At the same time always humble and kind.
Earlier in her childhood, Lacey had a unique personality; she was stubborn, but friendly, charismatic, but humorous, and always loving to everyone.
Because of her personality, is how she was gifted the name Piitaatsuakii. Her name was gifted by the late Norman Nice Cutter, who was known not be fond of children. At the age of four, Lacey’s persistence and determination, she developed a relationship and befriended the elderly man. Norman then gave her the name Piitaatsuakii.
Shortly after, Lacey’s mom Sandra had dream of four eagles that were flying and playing in the air. One of the eagles fell down into a hole on the ground. Lacey ran to the hole where the eagle fell in. She arose from the hole carrying the eagle. She then placed the eagle on the ground. Then the eagle transformed into a little girl. The girl then said, “You will always be my friend”.
After receiving the name and the dream; Beautiful Eagle Woman, her great uncle Buster Yellow Kidney translated the dream, and verified it was given to her from the spirit world.
Throughout her life, Lacey had various nicknames including Sabeek and Brat by her loved ones. Lacey also enjoyed dancing, watching movies at the theater, swimming, and all types of music. Lacey spent many years of her life with the many close friends and relatives. All of who will miss her dearly. Thank you to all of you who loved our Lacey.
Lacey will be reunited with her beloved son Kaiden Cage Twigg, her best friend Donna Crying Head. Maternal Grandparents Albert and Philomena Twigg. Paternal Grandparents Wallace and Eileen Mountain Horse. Aunts Tracy and Anita Twigg & Momma Patsy Mountain Horse, Marlene Mountain Horse. Uncles: Andrew Twigg, Alvin (Tank) Twigg and Alvin John Heavy Runner. Brother: Anthony Crane Chief.
