Delores was born in Cardston, AB, was raised and resided on the Blood Reserve, AB.Delores was raised by her maternal Grandmother Aahkiaapikkitstaakii, Annie Mountain Horse (nee Crow Chief). Born on March 2, 1955, Delores was the only daughter to Pete Standing Alone and Shirley Mountain Horse; respectively between her parents, she was blessed with numerous siblings.
Delores became a mother to Marcia and Crystal and she raised her girls as a single mother until 1988 when she met the love of her life Peter Weasel Moccasin. For Delores, Marcia and Crystal, the blessing of love, laughter, strength and commitment from Peter was more than they could wish for. Along with Peter joining Delores’s family, she gained a son, Garrett. Together, Delores and Peter’s family continued to grow with their son Dwight and daughter Mikayla. From the lives of their children, Delores was a cherished and attentive Grandmother to Cole, Tristan, Raiden, Karsen, Jakob, Dashal, Kai, Luca and Dregan. Delores was a member of the Moa’to’kiiksi for eight years and in 1990 she transferred to Rita Tallman. One of her early mentors, Mark Old Shoes Sr., prepared Delores for the life of ceremony she would embark upon. It was through Mark’s eternal guidance that Delores and Peter came together.
Delores and Peter were married on November 10, 1990 and in 1994 together they joined the Iitsskinnayiiks (Sacred Horn Society) with their partner Bob Burns as bundle holders of Piino’toiyi.
