Keston Sage Weaselhead Good Rider
November 6, 1999 - May 5, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Keston Sage Weaselhead Good Rider on May 5 2024 in Lethbridge Alberta. Son of Charlie and Rhonda Weaselhead, brother’s & sisters: Dan (Norma), Lacey Calf Robe, Pam, Lydia, Ryan (Mellissa), Irene, Cody (Allison), Charles (Sharla), Darcy (Tracy), Sharlee, Dylan, Kayla, David, Jaden, Thai and his baby sister Amber who recently passed, brother in law Frank Scout; adopted grandmas: Gayle Chase, Sady Many Fingers, Mary Weaselhead; special grandparents: the late Alphonse & Nora Eagle Bear; Special mom: the late Twilia and Lance Little Shields, numerous nieces and nephews.
Keston was born at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on November 6, 1999 to the Late Jessica Good Rider, Charlie and Rhonda’s adopted daughter. Shortly after Keston began his life journey with his loving parents Charlie and Rhonda, residing between Lethbridge and the Blood Reserve. Keston grew up in the Bullhorn area and began his educational journey in Glenwood Alberta. During that time you could often find Keston with his childhood friend Chayton Fox who were affectionately referred to as the “Naughty Boys” by grandma Gayle.
Keston loved his family, especially his nephews and nieces with a ferocity that was unmatched. He loved family barbecues and family campouts in the trailer at Waterton Dam or Police Lake, where he would swim for hours and eat numerous hotdogs and smores with his many nieces and nephews.
Much like his father Charlie, Keston was a busy body, he would always be doing something physical to pass his days. As a youngster Keston found skateboarding entertaining and would spend countless hours in his youth at the Cardston Skate Park. Once he had his mind set on something he pursued it with great vigor and passion until he became good at it and then he would do it some more. Keston developed a love for music and had a natural gift of being able to hear a song and immediately being able to play it on a guitar. Keston’s love of life and fearless attitude was seen with his love of his horse, Batman. He began riding at the tender age of 8, a trait he no doubt got from his dad and sister Sharlee. There was one time when Keston crawled on the fence, locked his arms around Batman’s neck, jumped on and went for a stroll. Rhonda was in shock but to Keston it felt right, normal even, at that time Keston’s family knew he had a gift.
One week before kestons tragic and untimely passing he lost his baby sister Amber, this tragic moment in his life brought him much grief. Keston did everything extreme, he played hard, worked and loved equally as hard, so the news of his baby sister leaving him was devastating. However, he was proud and honored that in her death she was able to bring life to another as she donated her heart to another person who would not have lived without the generosity of his little sister and the Long Time Squirrel Family.
Keston had a less than ideal last few years on earth as he slipped into addiction, but even in his lowest time on the planet he never lost his ability to love and to be loved, he never lost his spark that made Keston, Keston. Keston leaves behind many friends from his time in addiction, he had many people that always made sure he was safe, fed and warm.
Keston is also survived by biological father Sheldon (Lana) Healy, siblings; Ashely, Kayla, David, Jaden, and thai Healy, as well as his twin cousins Nick and Riley Good Rider whom he loved dearly and who stuck by his side during turbulent times; auntie and uncle: Yvette and Sheldon Blackwater; the Good Rider family; Grandma’s: Gayle Chase (Chayton, Katana and Envor), Mary Weaselhead, and Cloudy Jennison-Eagle Child who was always loving and supportive.
Keston was predeceased by his mother: Jessica Good Rider; sister: Amber Hunt whose recent passing shook Keston to the core; brother: Jason Weaselhead-Young Pine; his very close cousin Tyreke Good Rider, and his biological grandmother Tina Good Rider and numerous cousins.
Keston was fearless and went through life with that mindset, which allowed him to impact so many lives with his charm, charisma, and compassion for others. Keston is now an angel watching over us until we meet again. We love you Keston and will miss you so much. Thank you for being a part of all our lives and teaching us many lessons about love, family, resilience and acceptance during his short life.
Love you forever and always.
A Wake Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve, Alberta on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 7:00 - 11:00 pm.
