JUNE (BEAZER) WEBSTER peacefully passed away February 17, 2021 at the age of 100. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Fenton Webster, in January 2002.
June was born October 28, 1920 in Beazer, Alberta. She was the second of ten children born to Delbert and Vinnie Beazer. She is predeceased by brother Scott, as well as sisters Ruby and Joyce, and survived by sisters Ellen and Hazel and bothers Heber, Gerald, Harry, and Murray. June loved growing up on the family ranch in the small tight knit community of Beazer. She told many stories of her childhood adventures with her brothers and sisters riding her horse through the hills, swimming in Lee Creek, and sleigh riding down those same hills in winter when the snow was good. She loved to take the drive from Cardston to Beazer and marveled at the short 10 to 15 minutes the trip now takes. As a child she remembered many trips on that same road from Beazer to Cardston and back by horse and buggy or sleigh. It would usually take 2 or 3 hours each way and was often accompanied by
a cool breeze or cold wind. June attended elementary through high school in Beazer. She was a good athlete and was a member of many school and community softball and basketball teams. She attended post-secondary school at the Banff School of Fine Arts. June loved the arts and painted with watercolours, a passion which she has passed on to her children and grandchildren.
In December of 1939 June married Fenton Webster of Mountain View, Alberta. June and Fenton moved onto the Webster ranch near Mountain View which would be her home until 2000 when she and Fenton moved to Cardston. June and Fenton raised a family of nine children on the ranch at Mountain View. June is survived by children - Gaye, Barbara, Peggy, Joyce, Melanie, Julie, Jon, Wendel, Allen. Two of Junes children were deceased shortly after their birth (Karen and John Nolan). June and Fenton were hard workers as ranch families are, and her family still marvels at the memory of unending tasks she would complete on a daily basis. June and Fenton were able to purchase a winter home in St. George Utah in 1985. St George was her little heaven on earth, and she spoke tenderly of the times they spent there with good friends who would visit, relatives who also lived there including 3 of her children along with their grandchildren (Joyce, Melanie and Allen).
June was an amazing cook and was known far and wide for her stretch candy, made for Christmas and special occasions. Golf is a beloved activity of the Webster family. June became an expert golfer and won many trophies and medals in local, provincial, and international events.
June was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all her life. She enjoyed the fellowship of her many friends, neighbours and family who shared her faith. June and Fenton served at the Cardston LDS Temple in their later years, of which she often spoke and greatly enjoyed.
June was the beloved matriarch of her large family. At this time she has a total of 11 children, 38 Grandchildren, 71 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great, Great Grandchildren.
A Private Family Service will be held on Wednesday, February 24 at 1:00 pm. Interment in the Mountain View, Alberta Cemetery.
